Did you watch The Hills back in the day? Now that the popular reality series is coming back, that's a question that many of us have been asking our friends. The MTV show premiered in 2004 and was about a group of friends with a heavy focus on personal problems and tense situations. Lauren Conrad is the most famous face to come out of the show (and she got her start on the reality show Laguna Beach).

The Hills reboot will premiere in June 2019 and since that date is fast approaching, it's a good time to find out more about this show. Read on to find out everything that's confirmed about The Hills reboot New Beginnings.

Mischa Barton Is A New Cast Member

Mischa Barton as Marissa Cooper in The OC Fox

We all remember Mischa Barton as Marissa Cooper on The O.C. Some people might see her as the "poor little rich kid" stereotype and, sure, there was some of that going on. But she was still a fairly beloved part of that popular teen drama. Fans shipped her and Ryan Atwood.

Mischa Barton has been confirmed as a new cast member on The Hills: New Beginnings. This seems to because of how she was becoming famous around the time that The Hills was on. As star Whitney Eve Port said in an interview with E!, "She was also really well-known at the time when The Hills and The City were in their prime."

Three Of The Original Girls Are Back

An epic cast is a requirement of a reality series. When a show stars a group of female friends, they have to also have some beef with each other every once in a while in order to keep things fascinating.

Three of the original girls are back on the reboot of The Hills: Audrina Patridge, Whitney Eve Port, and Heidi Montag are all confirmed cast members.

All three of these women have been in the news in the past few years because of the changes in their personal lives. They are all mothers now: Audrina gave birth to daughter Kirra in 2016, Whitney had her son Sonny in 2017, and Heidi had a baby boy named Gunnar in 2017.

Lauren Conrad Won't Be On It

Lauren Conrad has definitely said goodbye to the reality TV genre as she's now a mom to baby boy Liam, pregnant with her second kiddo, and married to William Tell. She also has a fashion and lifestyle company.

Fans want to know if LC will be back on The Hills reboot, and it has been confirmed that she won't be. The general explanation is that she has so many things happening in her work and home life.

While fans might feel a lot of sadness and disappointment, they can at least follow along with Lauren Conrad's life via her beautiful Instagram profile.

It Won't Be About #MomLife

In a cover story interview with Cosmopolitan, it was mentioned that the girls won't be showing their lives as mothers on the new show: "Ironically, while motherhood is the most important thing to all three right now, it won’t be featured prominently on the show aside from, perhaps, 18-month-old Gunner Pratt, who’s more than ready for his close-up."

This might not make a ton of sense to some of us because if this is a reality series, shouldn't the stars' real lives be shown? And if they're moms, isn't that their whole life? We're interested to tune into the show and see what it's going to be about.

There Will Be Zero Kristen Cavallari

Kristin Cavallari is known these days for starring on her E! reality series, Very Cavallari. If you've been following along with her since her time on The Hills then you most likely have seen the show. It's cool to see her running a business and married with kids.

Will Kristin Cavallari be a cast member on The Hills: New Beginnings? She definitely won't. According to People, it's for a super practical and logical reason: because of her reality show with E! and the legal contract that she signed. While that's hard to hear, at least she's still a familiar face in the reality TV landscape.

There Might Have Been Another Reality Star On It

Since Mischa Barton wasn't part of the original cast of The Hills, it makes sense that there could have been another cast member who wasn't either. In fact, it turns out that Vanessa Grimaldi from The Bachelor could have been on the reboot, too.

Why didn't Vanessa decide to be on the show? She ultimately didn't want to be part of the drama. Vanessa told People magazine, “At that point, I was single and I’m not dating anyone. They were like, ‘You’d be the single girl coming on the show’ and I was like, ‘I don’t want to be the single girl coming on the show and starting s— between people and ruining relationships. That’s not what I want to do!’"

Mischa Barton Was Chosen Later On

There is something that we all want to know, and it's how Mischa Barton was cast on The Hills reboot.  After all, she's an actress and the others are reality stars.

According to Bustle, Mischa Barton told Interview Magazine that she was chosen pretty "last minute." She said, “I swear to God, I got thrown into this last minute. I was approached from every angle, by everyone I know. I ignored it at first, and then I got on a couple of calls with the producers and MTV. Then before I knew it, I was in serious talks with them."

The Old Gang Is Back Together

Heidi's husband Spencer Pratt, Spencer's sister Stephanie Pratt, and old fan faves Justin Bobby and Jason Wahler are all confirmed cast members for The Hills: New Beginnings. This is great news for fans of the original reality show since it can be tough to want to tune into a reboot that doesn't include any former stars.

Does Mischa Barton get along with the cast? That's probably a question that is on a lot of fan's minds since she wasn't on the old show. We'll definitely have to watch when the show premieres in June to see how everyone fares.

Jason And His Wife Are On The Show

Jason Wahler is famous as the guy who Lauren Conrad chose to spend the summer with instead of going to Paris for her job. Well, it's been confirmed that Jason and his wife, Ashley, will be on The Hills: New Beginnings. The couple also has a daughter named Delilah.

This is definitely cause for some drama... although it would, of course, be much more dramatic if Lauren Conrad was still on the show. But we have a feeling that given the show's history of tense storylines and conflict, there will still be plenty of drama to go around. We wonder if the show will bring up his relationship (and breakup) with LC?!

There Is Some Real Tension Between Spencer And His Sister

Anyone who watched The Hills is super aware that Spencer and Stephanie Pratt didn't always get along or see eye to eye. As it turns out, they're going through a very tense time. We should know that Stephanie has actually said when she appeared on the radio that Spencer and Heidi aren't part of her family now.

Whitney Port said in an interview with E! News, “It’s hard when we film. There is this need or push to pick sides. They kind of want you to pick sides, but I’m really not that kind of person."

Let the tension begin... and we're looking forward to the June 2019 premiere of The Hills: New Beginnings.
