The Hills: New Beginnings star Kaitlynn Carter has welcomed her first child. The 33-year-old reality star is finally building the family she's always dreamed about with her boyfriend, Kristopher Brock. Kaitlynn originally announced her pregnancy in a cute Instagram post showcasing her and Kristopher's shadows as they both cradled her baby bump. The couple was staying at the Esperanza Resort, Auberge location in Mexico when the photos were taken. Then news came as a shock to many fans as she recently split from MTV co-star, Brody Jenner.
Kaitlynn and Brody had a rollercoaster relationship when the former couple transferred their on-screen drama into real life they announced their split in the midst of the first season of the MTV show airing. According to the duo, they couldn't find a mutual ground on important life events such as starting a family. Kaitlynn and Brody also often dealt with confusing rumors about their desire to have an open relationship. More shockingly, reports of their breakup revealed that they were never legally married, and only celebrate a marriage ceremony in Bali. The marriage is not considered legitimate in the United States as neither party completed the necessary paperwork. Ultimately, they ended their relationship about a year after their big day. Nonetheless, there seems to be no love lost as Brody's mom, Linda Thompson, attended Kaitlynn's bridal show last month. Linda later wished her former daughter-in-law and her future family all of the happiness in the world on Instagram.
One month later and the motherhood journey has begun for Kaitlynn and Kristopher. The new mom shared the news on Instagram Wednesday night alongside a photo of herself nursing her newborn son. "Our chunky little guy, Rowan Carter Brock, was born 9/30/21 at 2:53am, 8 lbs 4 oz," she wrote in the caption. "Everyone is happy and healthy and so in love." While this is Kaitlynn's first bundle of joy, Kristopher is also a father to his 6-year-old son from a previous relationship.
Just before giving birth, Kaitlynn opened about her whirlwind year during an appearance on the HillsCast podcast. The reality star revealed that she only started dating Kristopher in May 2020, but as their love grew stronger, so did their commitment of starting a family together. Skip forward a few moments, and Kaitlynn admitted she needed some time to process the fact that she was actually pregnant. "It's something that I wanted for so long, that when I found out that I was actually pregnant, I was really surprised, in a good way of course." Kaitlynn ended the conversation by noting that she's had a pretty easy pregnancy and didn't really experience the expected morning sickness.
Though this may not have been the journey Kaitlynn expected, the reality star definitely wrote a new beginning as she finally found love in a man and a son. It will be interesting to see if MTV will give The Hills: New Beginnings another season so fans can watch Kaitlynn with the mom hat on. But here's the question on everyone's mind: Will Miley Cyrus get to meet the baby, and if so, when?
