The Gray Man releases on Netflix next week, and in it, two of Hollywood's biggest stars will face off. John Travolta Vs Christian Slater - Broken Arrow (1996)

John Travolta and Christian Slater went toe-to-toe as stealth-fighter pilots in John Woo's Broken Arrow. Travolta, as one of  John Woo's smartest action characters, plays a rogue pilot responsible for stealing nuclear warheads with Slater as his co-pilot and the only person with the ability to stop him.

The stunt-filled blockbuster, which made over $150 million dollars at the box office, wouldn't be the last time John Woo and John Travolta teamed up for a superstar showdown...

John Travolta Vs Nicolas Cage - Face/Off (1997)

The most obvious movie that springs to mind when talking about A-list actors doing battle is of course Woo's and Travolta's reunion one year later, the appropriately titled film Face/Off. It stars Travolta as an FBI agent and Cage as the cruel criminal he is trying to bring down, circumstances causing the pair swap their faces through an experimental procedure.

Even among his violent filmography, the Kill Bill films still rank as some of Quentin Tarantino's bloodiest and most brutal work. A large part of that is due to the epic fight scenes throughout the saga, the highlight among them being Thurman and Liu battling out as The Bride and O-Ren Ishii, respectively.

The two, both among Tarantino's toughest female characters, close out the first part of revenge story with a spectacular sword fight that ends in shocking fashion.

Fast Five is consistently ranked as one the best Fast & Furious movies by fans and it's truly not hard to see why. Not only does it unite all of the characters from the haphazardly connected first four films of the series, it also introduces Dwayne Johnson's Luke Hobbs to the franchise.

In his first appearance, DSS agent Hobbs is on the trail of Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto and his crew, causing the two to come to blows in one of the saga's most thrilling fights.

Captain America: Civil War - Cap vs. Iron Man

Superman and Batman wouldn't be the only superheroes to throw down that year, as just a few months later the Avengers were fractured when Evans's Captain America and Downey Jr.'s Iron Man came to blows in Captain America: Civil War.

The massively popular heroes would do battle over the issue of government control of superheroes, joined by many of their fellow Avengers and the A-list stars who play them. Make no mistake however, Evans and Downey Jr. were the marquee matchup in this superhero blockbuster.

The action rom-com genre returned in a big way in 2022, thanks to The Lost City, which sees Bullock as a brilliant yet cynical writer and Tatum as her gorgeous yet idiotic book cover model who slowly begins to develop feelings for one another while on the run from Radcliffe's deranged billionaire who believes Bullock knows the location of an ancient city.

The film was a big success upon its release, many viewers citing it as one of the best rom-com action movies, in thanks to the chemistry and phenomenal acting of the lead cast.
