The popular NBC fantasy comedy known as The Good Place is about to go out with a bang. After four successful seasons, the show is ending with its final episode scheduled to air in January 2020. Because of this, we thought it was time to look at the most popular episodes of the series so far. Rather thank ranking them ourselves, however, we're turning to IMDb for answers.

The popular movie and TV show website has assigned every single episode of The Good Place a star rating based on the votes of registered users on a scale of 1 to 10. This is what we'll be using to stack it all up.

With the logistics out of the way, it's time to head over to the afterlife; Here are the 10 best episodes of The Good Place, according to IMDb.

Most Improved Player (8.6)

Though we would have loved to include every episode that received an 8.6 rating on this list, the space is limited, so we're looking back at the ones with the most votes.

This season 1 episode has Michael reviewing Eleanor's life on Earth to help her figure out why she is in the Good Place. After it is revealed that she formerly did a series of awful things to a friend, a train from the Bad Place is summoned to collect their missing person. Eleanor doesn't end up completing the trip, however, as the Good Place gang recognizes her will to improve.

Everything Is Great! (8.6)

The two-part season 2 opener saw Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani, and Jason starting over in the Bad Place with wiped memories after figuring out the demons' schemes.

In this new reality, Chidi has difficulty choosing between his two possible soulmates, while Tahani and Jason become discontent with the partners that have been selected for them. Eleanor is busy trying to figure out why she is in the Good Place, but it's not long before she realizes that its just the Bad Place in disguise.

This leads Michael to reboot everything. Again.

Dance Dance Resolution (8.7)

The very next episode sees Michael rebooting the neighborhood multiple times because Eleanor always figures out what's up.

During the 802nd trial in the neighborhood, Eleanor, Chidi, and Janet take a trip to the Medium Place where they encounter Mindy St. Claire for the sixteenth time. She informs the group that Eleanor and Chidi frequently form a romantic relationship with each other and that the humans always come up with some plan to take down Michael.

Back in the Bad Place, Vicky and the other demons are tired of being actors in Michael's game and go on strike.

The Trolley Problem (8.7)

Eleanor, Chidi. and Michael on the trolley in The Good Place

This season 2 episode has Chidi busting out his ethical expertise in order to explain the trolley problem to Michael and Eleanor. In an attempt to help the group learn better, Michael provides a real-life simulation.

Meanwhile, Tahani and Jason develop a relationship with each other and Janet is made their counselor. With Janet providing help beyond her design, however, the neighborhood is at risk of collapse.

The Answer (8.8)

In the most recent episode of The Good Place, Michael resets Chidi so that the group can figure out what to do next.

This reset sends Chidi into a spiral through old memories. He recalls stopping his parents from getting a divorce via lecture, his girlfriend Allesandra breaking up with him, and a thesis adviser becoming frustrated over his inability to problem-solve.

Eventually, Chidi learns that the whole "soulmate" thing is a scam. When he wakes up, he's ready to lend some knowledge to the group.

Rhonda, Diana, Jake, And Trent (9.0)

Back toward the end of season 2, the humans end up at an event inside the Bad Place headquarters where they are forced to pretend that they are demons. Though they pull off their act at first, a presentation about the neighborhood displays their true identities.

They, along with Michael, are forced to escape. However, with only four badges, the humans have to enter the portal without Michael. He voluntarily chooses to stay behind.

The Burrito (9.0)

In the very next episode, the humans arrive at the Judge's chambers where they learn that they must take part in tests that will evaluate how much they've grown. They decide that they want to team together and will only move forward if they all pass the tests.

Unfortunately, Tahani, Jason, and Chidi all run into issues. While Elanor passes her test, she sticks with the other humans and pretends to have failed as well.

Though they should be sent to the Bad Place, Michael and Janet step in to offer up an argument for the humans' release.

Somewhere Else (9.0)

The final episode of season 2 has Michael turning back the time so that the humans can try to become better people on earth, with their deaths never occurring in the first place. This comes after the Judge considers putting each human in their own Medium Place while she considers what to do for a million years.

Though Eleanor becomes a better person after her near-death experience, she eventually reverts back to her old ways when she gets tired of others' judgment.

Janet(s) (9.2)

The humans take a trip to Janet's void in this season 3 episode, and it doesn't take long for them to freak out; They have all taken on personalized versions of Janet's appearance.

While Chidi and Eleanor work out their feelings for each other, Janet and Michael learn that no person has been good enough to get into the Good Place for over 500 years. They, along with the humans, eventually head to a Good Place office to sort things out.

Michael’s Gambit (9.5)

Topping things off as the highest-rated episode of all time is the season 1 finale.

Though Chidi, Tahani, Eleanor, and Jason are supposed to decide which two of them are to enter the Bad Place, Eleanor puts their plans on halt when she figures something out; they are already in the Bad Place.

Michael reveals that she is correct and that the humans have simply been placed in the neighborhood as part of an experiment in which they were to torture each other. Just before Michael resets the neighborhood for a redo, Eleanor gives Janet a note that will instruct her to find Chidi at a later time.
