Stephen King gives his honest review of DC's upcoming The Flash, and James Gunn responds. Ezra Miller's The Flash story sees Barry Allen travel through the multiverse and meeting both old and new DC characters, such as Michael Keaton's Batman and Sasha Calle's Supergirl. The film has been praised by everyone who has seen it, which includes new DC Studios co-CEO Gunn and popular author King.On Twitter, King shared his honest review of The Flash after having watched an advance screening of the movie. Gunn then responded to a fan asking if it was true that King had seen an early screening of the film, saying, "Hell yes it is."

King's review was very positive, helping build even more anticipation for The Flash. The film is probably DC's biggest release of the year, with The Flash going to reset the old DCEU into the new DC Universe. Due to that, every positive review is greatly appreciated.

DC seems to be prepping for The Flash's release next month by bringing in a wave of popular creatives, like King, to watch the film through advance screenings. Word-of-mouth needs to be great for The Flash, and given the abysmal numbers of DC's latest release, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, the studio is likely looking to get strong impressions for its new film right out of the gate. Besides King, actor Jaden Smith also took to Twitter to reveal he had watched The Flash, saying it "just changed [his] life."

Prior to this new wave of screenings, other lucky individuals had the chance to check out The Flash before it releases in theaters on June 16. Tom Cruise's The Flash review, after catching the movie in a private screening at his home, is said to have been overwhelmingly positive. Cruise got the opportunity to watch the film after expressing interest in The Flash to Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav. The executive then set up Cruise's private screening, with the actor reportedly saying something similar to The Flash being “everything you want in a movie.”

DC's confidence in The Flash became evident after the studio screened the full movie at this year's CinemaCon, in April, roughly two months before its release date. The Flash was universally praised by those at the screening. Some praised its stunning VFX, while others talked about how the movie lived up to its hype, with audience members claiming The Flash belongs among the best superhero movies ever. Screen Rant's Rob Keyes called The Flash "the funniest DC movie." With the amount of praise the movie's been getting before release, it appears that King's positive review will be one among millions when The Flash premieres in June.
