Warning! Spoilers for Earth-Prime: Legends of Tomorrow #3

Originally created for The CW’s Arrowverse, Legends of Tomorrow is coming to comics with the upcoming crossover miniseries, Earth-Prime. The 6-issue miniseries will unite The CW heroes including Superman, Batwoman, Stargirl, and more.

The CW’s portrayal of the DC Universe has included many original elements, including the Legends of Tomorrow. The time-traveling team of superheroes and former villains united the Atom, Captain Cold, Rip Hunter, Firestorm, White Canary, and more. The alternating roster of heroes have never been united in comics before. However, this will change with the upcoming miniseries Earth-Prime, set in continuity with The CW’s DC Universe. Spanning over three months, Earth-Prime will open with Batwoman, continuing with Superman & Lois, and then Legends of Tomorrow.

As reported by AIPT and revealed by DC Comics, Earth-Prime: Legends of Tomorrow #3, the team will officially make their comic book debut. Although they popped up in the Crisis on Infinite Earths tie-in comic, this issue will mark many of the members’ first time interacting in comics. Earth-Prime: Legends of Tomorrow #3 will be written by series producers Lauren Fields and Daniel Park with by Paul Pelletier and Andrew Hennessy, with a cover by Kim Jacinto. After Mick Rory’s Necrian children are kidnapped by Necrian assassins, Ray Palmer AKA the Atom reunites retired members of the team. A photo variant cover will be featured for $5.99 with a card stock variant for $6.99. The issue releases on May 3.

As approved by The CW’s producers, the crossover miniseries is confirmed to be canonical with the Arrowverse. Although whatever happens can’t drastically affect the characters, as many fans won’t follow the change in medium, the events could easily be mentioned in an episode. Since each issue is written by coinciding series writers, the stories should feel authentic to their live action counterparts.

Before eventually colliding in Earth-Prime #6, each series will have an issue dedicated to individual heroes. It hasn’t been confirmed yet who the ultimate threat will be, as each part seems to be planting seeds for the overarching antagonist. In the live action crossovers, the heroes have encountered the alien race called the Dominators, an alternate Earth’s Nazi version of characters, the Anti-Monitor, and the telekinetic tyrant, Despero. Now, they will need to join forces again to take on a villain that brings Stargirl into the fold for the first time. Earth-Prime begins in April with Earth-Prime: Batwoman #1 in print and digital platforms.
