The CW rocked the DCEU world a few weeks ago when they aired Invasion!, a three-hour crossover event that united the heroes of their hit shows SupergirlThe FlashLegends of Tomorrow, and Arrow. In the crossover, the Arrowverse teams come together, along with Supergirl, to fight the Dominators, a dangerous alien race. Though Supergirl's mid-season finale didn't introduce the crossover until its very end, the other three shows dedicated entire episodes to the event, including Arrow's 100th episode.

Luckily for The CW, their enormous time investment paid off in a big way, as Invasion! became the channel's most-watched week in nearly a decade. Understandably, the network is eager to capitalize on the success of Invasion! -- eager enough, in fact, to repeat the entire thing just one month after its original premier.

To help fill the space left by the four DCEU shows before they return for the second half of their seasons, The CW is re-airing Invasion!. Though Supergirl didn't play a major role in the original event, the network will still feature its mid-season finale, 'Medusa,' to introduce the whole reprise, which will run January 9-12. As before, Supergirl will air Monday, The Flash Tuesday, Arrow Wednesday, and Legends of Tomorrow Thursday, all at 8 p.m.

Steel and Supergirl in Invasion!

This will be a welcome development for any fans looking for introductions to the shows before they come back in late January, or those of us who just really enjoyed the special in general. When the shows come back, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow will both air on Tuesdays -- The Flash at 8 p.m. and Legends of Tomorrow at 9 -- to make room for Supernatural Thursday nights at 8.

Some might think The CW is jumping the gun with this move, but it actually makes sense as a in-hiatus maneuver. Without too much other programming to draw in new viewers in the interim, it follows that the network would attempt to draw (or re-draw) viewers in during the usually uneventful space. Still, this re-airing almost certainly won't accrue the same numbers as before, if it provides any kind of standout ratings at all.

For anyone who missed Invasion! and wants a chance to watch it as it originally aired, early 2017 is your chance. If you want, check out our reviews for each installment afterwards, and let us know what you thought.

Invasion! airs on The CW for the second time on Jan. 9-12, all in the 8. p.m. EST time slot. Supergirl returns Monday, Jan. 23 in that time slot. The Flash returns Tuesday the 24th at 8. pm., with Legends of Tomorrow returning afterwards at 9 p.m. Arrow returns Wednesday the 25th at 8 p.m.
