With The Circle putting players on their own in an apartment, only able to communicate via text-based messages with other players, it might seem difficult to show one's personality. But it's amazing how funny people can be when they're left to talk to no one but themselves and do nothing but entertain themselves for much of the day.

Plus, thanks to the wonder of emojis combined with sharp wit, humor can actually come through loud and clear via lines of text on a screen. And while all players to date have been entertaining, both on the U.S. version of The Circle as well as its many international versions, some have been funnier than others.

Alex (Adam) – Season 1

Alex from The Circle staring and yelling at the screen.

There was something endearing about Alex, a self-professed nerd in dark-rimmed glasses and overalls pretending to be a buff, handsome jock. Alex finding himself in precarious positions allowed his personality to shine as he tried to think like the type of guy who happened to be the complete opposite of who he really was.

What was funniest with Alex were his conversations with Seaburn, who was playing as his girlfriend Rebecca. The two played up a subtle flirtation with one another even though each had their suspicions that the other was a catfish. Hilariously, they were both right. But watching Alex try and flirt with Rebecca juxtaposed with his "if she only knew" commentary was very funny.

Seaburn (Rebecca) – Season 1

Seaburn had a tough time at some points in the game trying to pretend to be a woman, especially when he was invited to all-girls chats. But watching him have these conversations while often clutching a stuffed animal and sipping on wine was funny. This is also what made Seaburn one of the best catfishes on The Circle.

He was lost and confused much of the time. And while he tried his best and did indeed fool a lot of people, watching Seaburn try to navigate talking like a woman was like watching a fish out of water, and it was thoroughly entertaining.

Chris – Season 1

Chris from The Circle sitting on the couch, legs folded, arms outstretched giving the screen the side-eye.

Chris was the king of one-liners, coming up with funny commentary about what was going on. He would read a line someone typed, give his real thoughts without holding back, then dictate a message that was completely contrary to what he really thought privately.

Of course, this is the name of the game on The Circle and everyone did the same thing. But there was something about Chris' delivery and upbeat personality that made him particularly humorous.

Joey – Season 1

Joey was the biggest surprise of the first season, and arguably the whole series to date. He initially came across as a Jersey tough guy who was shallow, pompous, and narcissistic. But he beautifully represented what the show was about by showing that being judged by his initial appearance was unfair because he was anything but.

Noy only was Joey sweet, kind, and thoughtful, traits that helped him win the game, but he was also extremely funny. He got along so well with Shubham that they had one of the best friendships on The Circle. He was charming, witty, and cracked jokes that made everyone laugh when they needed it the most.

Jack (Emily, John) – Season 2

Jack was doing a great job fooling everyone into thinking he was a young woman. But he made mistakes in a makeup-related challenge that tipped others off to the fact that he was likely a catfish. Jack one of the players on The Circle who didn't deserve to be blocked - it seemed unfair that he was just because of this one mistake.

He was also one of the funniest players, doing silly things while he was bored, talking himself up, and making comments to pat himself on the back after his clever conversations with others. That's why fans were happy when Jack got a second chance to remain in the game, playing alongside Lisa as a new catfish named John.

Chloe – Season 2

Chloe stunned in The Circle 2

Arguably the funniest player on The Circle period, Chloe was a ray of light when she first walked into her apartment. Known already to viewers, and some players, from her time on another Netflix reality show, Love Island, Chloe was loud, outspoken, brutally honest, and downright funny.

Anytime Chloe appeared on screen, it was guaranteed to be comedy gold. She flirted with abandon, befriended the ladies, and made her big personality known even just through emojis and typed words.

Courtney – Season 2

Courtney shocked in The Circle 2

Courtney was all about getting the "tea" from others, in reference to the gossip about what was going on in the game. He was always expressive and animated, and his conversations with himself going back and forth about what to do or whom to trust were both emotional at times and hilarious at others.

With Courtney hosting his own podcast and working as a digital content creator, it's not surprising that he had the gift of gab and ranks among the funniest and most entertaining cast members from the show.

James – Season 3

James lounges on the couch in The Circle

It's no surprise that James is The Circle 3 cast member with the most Instagram followers seeing as he was already a media personality with a podcast and YouTube channel. What's also not surprising is that he is among the funniest cast members considering James also works as a stand-up comedian.

Indeed, he came into the game later but quickly made friends thanks to his charming personality and witty jokes. He knew exactly how to respond to people to make them laugh, whether it was self-deprecating humor or something to lighten an otherwise tense mood.

Sophia (Isabella) – Season 3

Sophia was so excited to be in The Circle, which made fans excited to see her. While she felt awkward flirting with Nick while playing as her sister, largely because she is gay and in a committed relationship, she also had fun with it. Her "yuck" comments after sending a flirty text she really didn't mean were funny and made her relatable.

Sophia always let loose, whether it was dancing, wearing silly costumes, or putting her all into a challenge. There was something both sweet and funny about her.

Nick (Vince) – Season 3

Nick was one of the most likable characters on The Circle season 3, thanks to his charming personality and ability to both flirt with the ladies and bond with the guys. Part of the reason he was so well-liked was his genuineness, even if he did lie about his occupation.

But what made Nick so funny was his time playing as temporary catfish Vince. He went back and forth from the living room to the bedroom to get himself fully in character to convincingly play another person while also playing himself. He fully immersed himself in the role, cape and all. Nick's ability to laugh at himself and silly things going on made him both endearing and humorous.
