Star of The Challenge, Zach Nichols surprised another The Challenge star Jenna Compono with a proposal. The two love birds have been an item since 2014 and a staple on the hit MTV show for longer.
The MTV series, The Challenge, was first aired as a spinoff in 1990, combining The Real World and Road Rules to make one super competition with its cast of reality stars. At the start of each season, contestants are placed into teams, then put head-to-head in physical and mental challenges. The goal for each season is to have made it to the finale, where the only remaining cast member wins a cash prize and bragging rights. If contestants are lucky while competing on the show some end up finding their soul mate and life partner.
Move over Jordan and Tori, MTV has announced a newly engaged couple from The Challenge house; Zach Nichols and Jenna Compono. Nichols took his now fiancé to New York City and popped the big question while looking at the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree as her brother taped the special moment. The couple shared with E! that New York City was where they had gone on their first date. The couple laughed as Compono showed up four hours late to their date and when she did arrive, she immediately took a selfie. Since dating the couple has returned to the tree every year to celebrate their love. Compono said that she was surprised by Nichols getting down on one knee as she was not expecting it in the least. The blushing bride said that her fiancé was so sincere and sweet in his proposal that she could not possibly say no. Nichols went to a family for jeweler back in their hometown of Brighton, Michigan where a bought the special ring from a family friend who owned Cooper & Brinkley Jewelers. According to the reality star, the store made the whole process of choosing a ring extremely personal as he figured out what diamonds to pick and how to design the wedding band.
Fans will recall meeting the two love birds back in 2014 when they starred on Battle of the Exes II and watched as they sparked a romance. The couple had split up a couple of years into their relationship due to cheating rumors but reconciled a short time later. Nichols has always stated in interviews that he knew Compono was the one but at the time did not feel as if either one was ready to commit to marriage. There has not been any comment on whether they will allow their wedding to be filmed, but The Challenge fans are keeping their fingers crossed.
