Like most other reality TV shows, MTV's The Challenge takes a lot of contestants with strong and diverse personalities, puts them all into strange situations and environments, and then has all of the players compete with one another until someone emerges as the victor.

Viewers and fans have come to know many of the player's personalities quite well over the years. But when it comes to the signs of the Chinese zodiac, which players on The Challenge best represent each sign?

Rat - Veronica Portillo

The Rat is the first sign in the Chinese zodiac, and those born in this sign are quite memorable. They're typically very charming and likable, but they are also very opportunistic and good at spotting anything that they can use to their advantage.

And while Veronica has always been a strong competitor, one of her best skills as a player is being able to find weaknesses in the game or other players and exploiting them.

Ox - Abram Boise

Abram was a player on The Challenge who always valued good character and competition over everything else, which made him unique and often left him at odds with others.

But just like any true Ox, Abram was consistently able to pay the game in his way, because his strength and sense of determination got him exactly where he needed to go.

Tiger - CT Tamburello

Those born in the years of the Tiger are exactly what most people would expect them to be. They're typically very strong and courageous, and they're never the type to back down from a fight.

Like CT, their strength is undeniable and can be very intimidating, but their brash demeanor can also cause problems with people who have difficulty handling that kind of aggression.

Rabbit - Diem Brown

In Chinese astrology, the Rabbits are extremely charming people who get along with everyone and who everyone likes. And that charm isn't fake or put on, they're so likable because they're genuinely kind.

Diem Brown was one of the very few players in the history of the series who was beloved by absolutely everyone, including the fans, making her the perfect representation of the Rabbit.

Dragon - Wes Bergmann

As the only mythical beast in the Chinese zodiac, the Dragon truly represents the best of the best. Dragons are typically extremely ambitious and confident, but that ambition and confidence isn't unwarranted, because a Dragon usually manages to make their dreams come true.

Wes' achievements in The Challenge have been epic, and he's actually good at every single aspect of the game, so it's only fair that he represents the Dragon of the series.

Snake - Ashley Mitchell

Fans of the show that aren't fans of Ashley might assume that she's the Snake for a more nefarious reason, but what the Snake represents in the zodiac is actually different than what many might expect.

Snakes are known for being quite loyal to those they care about, they have a talent for drawing a lot of people in and charming them, and they're usually very smart and calculating.

Horse - Cara Maria Sorbello

It's only right that The Challenge's resident horse girl is also the Horse of the Chinese zodiac, but Cara actually does represent her favorite animal quite well.

Those born under the sign of the Horse are true free spirits who feel compelled to live life to the fullest and roam as far as they can. They can't stand being stifled by others and need to express themselves completely.

Sheep - Aneesa Ferreira

Aneesa has recently lamented feeling like she's the house mom, but it's not surprising that she has fallen into this role given her personality.

Like the Sheep of the Chinese zodiac, she's extremely compassionate and kind-hearted, with a pretty tough and powerful side to her as well.

Monkey - Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio

Those born in the year of the Monkey are best known for being goofballs, but beneath that comedic veneer is someone who is actually incredibly clever and savvy.

Like the man named after a monkey's favorite food, those born in this sign are social butterflies who can charm nearly anyone and many any situation seem like fun.

Rooster - Jordan Wiseley

Jordan Wiseley on The Challenge

To put it lightly, Jordan is a controversial figure in The Challenge, both in the eyes of fans and his fellow competitors.

Like a typical Rooster, he knows how to get things done, but he also has no personal filter and doesn't believe that he should have one either. Roosters are cocky and quick to leave the weak behind, but they usually achieve their dreams, no matter how big.

Dog - Jenna Compono

The Chinese sign of the Dog usually have personality traits that any real-life dog lovers are bound to recognize. They're quite moral, they have a strong character, they're empathetic, and their kindness makes pretty much everyone like them.

And that's not something that can be said about many of the competitors on The Challenge, but it certainly can be said about Jenna.

Pig - Mike "The Miz" Mizanin

Newer fans of the series might not realize that WWE wrestler The Miz was actually on The Real World and then on The Challenge before becoming a professional wrestler.

And although he's made a career of fighting, the Pigs of the zodiac are natural peacemakers who are trustworthy, generous, and love nothing more than having fun surrounded by friends, which is exactly the kind of person Mike showed himself to be on the series.
