Former NYPD officer and cast member on The Challenge, Nicole Zanatta, recently planned an adorable proposal to her girlfriend Lauren, who responded with an enthusiastic yes. Though it’s been a while since viewers have seen her on the show, Nicole is known for being a formidable competitor, and the news of her new engagement was met with excitement from fans and Nicole’s fellow Challenge alum.
Nicole and her thick Staten Island accent were introduced to viewers on Invasion of the Champions, where she developed a reputation for being loud and competitive. She was an excellent addition to the underdog team and made it to the final, but was unable to secure a win. Nicole made it to a final again on Vendettas, but was medically disqualified after injuring her ankle, and she was understandably crushed. While Nicole competed on Double Agents, where she was partnered up with Devin Walker, but had to leave the game early due to medical reasons. Nicole took a season off during Spies, Lies & Allies, and it’s unclear if she plans to return to The Challenge.
However, even if she doesn’t compete on the long-running MTV show again, Nicole is doing just fine, and her recent engagement is her first step towards a wonderful life with her now-fiancée Lauren. On Instagram, Nicole shared a video of the proposal, and it was perfection. She had arranged a heart on the ground with flower petals, and when she got down on one knee, Lauren was overwhelmed with joy. The post didn’t include the audio of Nicole’s proposal, but the song “Still Into You” by Paramore played over the video, and the whole scene was beautiful.
“Every now and then the man upstairs sends someone down that is just really really good,” Nicole said in the caption. “I am so happy that we’re embarking on this journey together & I still can’t believe you’re my fiancé!” Nicole’s followers and fans of The Challenge were quick to offer their congratulations and flood the comments section with heart emojis. There were also many words of love and excitement from Nicole’s Challenge friends as well. “Aweeee SOOOOO SWEEEEETTT MAKES MY HEART MELT,” Tori Deal commented in all-caps, and she wasn’t the only Challenge competitor who rushed to congratulate Nicole and Lauren. Tony Raines, Jenna Compono, Kyle Christie, Kam Williams, Amanda Garcia, and more all had sweet and supportive words for the newly-engaged couple.
Though she hasn’t been on many seasons of The Challenge, Nicole definitely made a name for herself on the show as a fierce competitor, and viewers are glad to see she’s thriving outside the show as well. With so many of her fellow cast members gushing over her picture-perfect engagement, it's proof that Nicole has made many friends during her time as a competitor, and now she’s ready to embark on her journey through the rest of her life with her love Lauren at her side.
