YouTuber Jake Paul is well known for his trash talk, and recently he’s caught the attention of The Challenge’s Darrell Taylor, who wants to get in the ring with Jake to show him what a real boxer can do. Jake seems to be dedicated to pursuing a fighting career, but Darrell thinks he’s out of his element. The four-time Challenge champ and amateur boxer is eager to teach Jake a lesson on how to respect the sport of boxing.

Despite his passion for the sport, Jake has few real fights under his belt. In the past, he’s fought another YouTube personality as well as pro-basketball player Nate Robinson, and he won both matches. Most recently, Jake went up against MMA fighter Ben Askren, and though there were serious doubts that he could hold his own, Jake won that match as well. However, he’s gotten criticism for not fighting any actual boxers, and Darrell wants to change that.

Darrell is a legend on The Challenge and is currently competing on the All Stars season that recently premiered. But he’s been passionate about boxing for decades, and he doesn’t appreciate the way Jake is treating the sport. ““I just feel like they’re making a mockery out of boxing,” Darrell told Us Weekly. “Boxing saved my life.” The reality TV star described how he got into boxing at age 21 in an effort to turn his life around. After a few years, Darrell felt confident enough to enter some actual boxing matches and surprised himself with how well he did.

Darrell takes boxing seriously, so Jake’s grandstanding bothers him. “The fact that he’s saying he’s a great boxer and all this, I think it just really kinda messes with me a little bit,” Darrell commented. “I feel like he’s disrespecting boxing. He’s gassing himself up way too much. So when I see this and he’s saying, ‘Who should [I] fight next?’ Well, why don’t you fight somebody who knows what it’s like to be in the ring?”

Jake Paul has yet to respond to The Challenge champ, but fans of the long-running MTV reality show are hoping he takes the bait. Darrell asserts that viewers would be in for a good time if he got the chance to get in the ring with Jake. “He’s not gonna knock me out like these other cats,” Darrell said. “Give these people a show.” There’s no telling if Jake will be brave enough to take on Darrell, but it’s a fight that fans would love to see.
