Warning! Spoilers for The Boys comic and the Amazon show below.

Amazon's The Boys are in an uphill battle in the show's world of superheroes, as they don't have many answers for the superpowered beings in terms of physical encounters. Taking down secretly evil heroes without powers of their own is a tremendously tall task. However, in the comics, one of the group's members, Mother's Milk, was actually born a supe.

In the television series, the only member of The Boys with powers is Kimiko, aka The Female. In both the show and the comic, Compound V gave her powers later in life. The rest of The Boys don't have powers in the show. But, in the comics, the group regularly takes Compound V to challenge the supes of the corporate world. It was also later revealed that Mother's Milk had the power gene since birth, as he was accidentally part of the Compound V experiments.

In The Boys #35 by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, Hughie and Mother's Milk have a conversation in front of the once-destroyed Brooklyn Bridge. MM reveals that he was actually on the bridge the day Homelander crashed a plane into it. MM also reveals that was "V-ed up at conception" and that he was born with the superpower gene, much to Hughie's surprise.

Mother Milk - Powers Origin The Boys

It turns out MM's mom worked in a factory owned by Vought-American that was formerly used as a testing grounds for Compound V where many of the workers were exposed and died. MM and his brother were born with Compound V in their blood. Sadly, his disabled brother died after mutating due to the gene. MM's father took on Vought in court and actually managed a small legal win, but he would also die while trying to build another case against them after his son's death. Mother's Milk's powers would show while he was in the army, as he accidentally killed his opponent in the boxing ring during a championship bought.

Mother Milk's powers activated much later in his life than most heroes. It turns out the Compound V would give him the standard set of superpowers, including super strength, stamina, and healing. The powers made him the only member of The Boys to be incidentally born with Compound V in his bloodstream and "naturally" gain powers. Along with The Female, he's the only team member in the comics who didn't need to take the drug to gain superhuman abilities. It remains to be seen whether the television series will follow this route and give MM a power-up or activate them, but it's always something The Boys TV series can turn to if they need someone besides Kimiko to go head-to-head against Vought's most powerful supes.
