A new The Boys season 4 fan trailer imagines Antony Starr's Homelander gearing up to exact his revenge. First premiering on Prime Video in 2019, the bloody, brutal, and hilarious superhero series has become one of the streamer's most popular offerings. The Boys tells the story of a group of vigilantes who work to take down a team of corrupt superheroes, offering a more realistic vision of what would happen if highly flawed, selfish, and bloodthirsty individuals had the power to do whatever they pleased. Season 3 of the hit show concluded last summer and season 4 is currently in the works, although no official release date has been provided thus far.

There's been no official trailer for The Boys season 4 just yet, but a new fan edit of previous seasons by Screen Culture imagines what might be on the horizon for Hughie (Jack Quaid), Billy (Karl Urban), Annie (Erin Moriarty), and Homelander. The trailer teases that Homelander's relationship with Ryan (Cameron Crovetti), his son, could be a crucial part of the upcoming season and that Starr's character may be looking for some revenge after the events of season 3. What Will The Boys Season 4 Story Be About?

Billy and Ryan in The Boys Season 3

There's been no official word from creator Eric Kripke on what exactly is coming up in The Boys season 4, but if season 3 is any indication, the upcoming batch of episodes will be filled with more crazy moments, gruesome deaths, tough decisions, and character growth. As imagined in the fan-made trailer, Homelander's dynamic with his superpowered son could be a major focus of The Boys season 4. Season 3 ends with Homelander and Ryan forming a deeper connection, potentially hinting that Ryan will turn to the dark side, so to speak, joining his father in what is essentially a never-ending quest for more power and control.

The season 3 finale of The Boys features Homelander finding out that Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) is actually his biological father. Upon learning that Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell) knew this all along, Homelander kills Mitchell's character with a very graphic punch through the stomach. Despite remaining a very mysterious character, Black Noir was a fan-favorite for many, and Kripke has teased that audiences may not have seen the last of the superhero. Although confirming that The Boys won't explore the comics storyline of Black Noir actually being a clone of Homelander, the creator does tease that season 4 may feature a recast of sorts, with somebody else potentially donning the Black Noir costume in order to give the impression that he's still alive to the public.

The Boys season 3 answers a number of questions but raises many more, leaving many characters' futures in the balance. Billy, for example, is told that he has only 12 to 18 months left to live due to taking temp-V, suggesting that season 4 may see the character meet his end. With the conflict between Billy and Homelander continuing to heat up, The Boys season 4 is already shaping up to be the wildest and most action-packed one yet.
