Jeffrey Dean Morgan remains optimistic that he will cameo in The Boys season 4. At one time, it was hoped the 56-year-old actor would feature in season 3 after showrunner Eric Kripke extended an online invitation. The pair previously collaborated on Kripke’s hit CW series Supernatural, in which Morgan portrayed the family patriarch John Winchester.
Despite his enthusiastic response to Kripke’s invitation, Morgan ultimately does not feature in The Boys season 3. Lamenting the star’s busy schedule, Kripke recently suggested that he would still be interested in casting Morgan but doubted the feasibility of a season 4 cameo in light of the actor's obligations to The Walking Dead spinoff, Isle of the Dead. Those who love both Supernatural and The Boys had expressed excitement over a potential cameo for Morgan after it was confirmed that Jensen Ackles, who formerly starred as Dean Winchester, had claimed the role of Solider Boy in the hit Prime Video series.
Responding to Kripke’s disappointment over their conflicting schedules, Morgan again reiterated his determination to appear in The Boys. Despite Kripke suggesting that a season 4 cameo seemed unlikely, Morgan appeared more optimistic about the situation. Check out Morgan's post below:

Though The Boys season 4 has yet to be announced by Prime Video, the show’s renewal seems almost inevitable given its ongoing success. Starring Antony Starr as Homelander, Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie Campbell, and Erin Moriarty as Starlight, The Boys season 3 is due to premiere on June 3, featuring Ackles’ highly-anticipated superhero debut. It would be exciting to see Ackles and Morgan onscreen together in such a different type of show, and it's reassuring to hear Morgan is going to do what he can to make a cameo work at some point in the future.
While Morgan’s final outing as Negan in the original Walking Dead series prepares to air later this year, the star could still struggle to make his superhero dreams a reality with the upcoming spinoff already on the horizon. Still, with Kripke at the helm and showing a great willingness to write Morgan into the show, the actor can at least rest assured that a cameo is waiting for him whenever he finds the time. With The Boys continuing to generate intense viewer fervor, with any luck, Morgan will have a few more seasons in which to make his debut.
