The Boys is one of the raunchiest, most violent television series currently airing as the Amazon show doesn't hold back when it comes to depicting how messed up their world of evil, corporate superheroes are. However, there's a character from the comics, Jack From Jupiter, that is so ridiculous, that he was straight-up replaced on the series by a new character entirely.

In the comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Seven are clearly inspired by heroes from the Marvel and DC Universe. There's clear parodies of Superman (Homelander), The Flash (A-Train), Iron Man and Batman (Tek Knight), and even a bumbling version of the Teen Titans. One of the comic's more obvious satirical takes comes in the form of Jack From Jupiter, an alien who is clearly The Boys' twisted take on DC's Martian Manhunter. Unlike his more somber counterpart, Jack From Jupiter was so bizarre, he was cut from the show's version of The Seven.

Jack From Jupiter first appeared in The Boys #4, as the only alien-like member of The Seven. He's got an alien-like appearance and his powers include flight and impenetrable skin and unlike his DC counterpart, he's a sex-hungry, racist, homophobe who's widely considered to be the weakest member of The Seven. Jack is eventually kicked out of The Seven after it's revealed he secretly visited prostitutes. He's later killed by Billy Butcher. All-in-all, Jack From Jupiter is ridiculous and forgettable.

However, there's a very good reason he was replaced on the show. The Boys co-creator Eric Kripke discussed replacing Jack From Jupiter with Translucent in a Reddit AMA. He revealed that the change was made because having an alien-looking character would mess with the mythology of the human characters being born with powers. Kripke described Jack as always feeling "too fantastic for the world we were trying to create," while admiring his sexual habits.

We're trying to make the show as grounded as possible -- and the story to the public is that people were suddenly and spontaneously born with these powers. (That's not the truth of course, but Vought is pitching a Mutant like mythology to the public). To say one of their heroes is an alien kinda kills that myth. Jack always felt too fantastic for the world we were trying to create. Though I do love his ability to get that many penises into his butt.

While The Boys smallscreen adaptation is absolutely wild at times, adding in an alien-looking character right off the hop definitely would have taken away from the mythos surrounding supes. Jack From Jupiter's replacement, the invisible Translucent, was a big enough creep in his own right to fill in for the alien comic creation. Plus, the character was killed in the second episode, so perhaps, Jack is being saved for a more overarching storyline opposed to being a catalyst for The Boys. It seems Kripke made the right call in ignoring Jack From Jupiter - he's too fantastical compared to the other heroes and would potentially screw up the show's entire premise of human-looking supes becoming more thanks to Compound V. That doesn't mean Jack From Jupiter won't show up on The Boys eventually.
