Jeffrey Dean Morgan has taken to social media to tease his upcoming role in The Boys season 4 with a fitting NFSW image. Developed by Supernatural creator Eric Kripke, Morgan was initially eyed by the showrunner for a role in The Boys season 3 but was unavailable due to his commitments on The Walking Dead. Despite missing out on season 3, the show’s Twitter account in August last year revealed that Morgan would finally be joining the cast for the highly anticipated season 4.With filming on The Boys season 4 currently underway, Morgan has taken to Twitter to offer a behind-the-scenes image of him giving a one-finger salute.

Never content to let an opportunity for a good quip pass, the show’s own Twitter account replied, “See you’ve got the salute down already.” Further proving himself a perfect match for The Boys’ trademark sense of humor, he shot back: “It’s why I was hired.”

Who Is Jeffrey Dean Morgan Playing In The Boys Season 4?

In the lead-up to The Boys season 4’s eventual release, Kripke and his team have given audiences several hints about what they can expect from the new season. With Erin Moriarty’s Starlight defecting from The Seven and Dominique McElligott’s Queen Maeve faking her own death during season 3, it would seem that Vought has some seats to fill on their premiere superhero team. Season 4 will see the introduction of two new Supes in the form of Sister Sage (Susan Heyward) and Firecracker (Valorie Curry). Meanwhile, Nathan Mitchell has teased that he will be playing an entirely new character who will be assuming Black Noir’s armor.

However, amidst this treasure trove of details, Kripke and his cast have remained tight-lipped about who Morgan will be playing in the show. Speculation has run rampant among viewers. Well known for his ability to bring despicable characters like The Walking Dead’s Negan to life, many assumed that he would also likely be tackling the role of a Supe. One character in particular rose to the top of many theories, that of the Batman satirical character Tek Knight.

Though Morgan may not be playing a Supe at all, the role of the sex-addicted Tek Knight would be a perfect choice for the actor. Given Morgan has also been vocal about missing out on playing the Flashpoint version of Batman in The Flash movie, it would be interesting to have him tackle a twisted version of Gotham’s Dark Knight. Whether he is playing Tek Knight remains to be seen, but The Boys season 4 is likely to deliver many surprises for unsuspecting viewers.
