Since premiering in June 2017, The Bold Type has been one of Freeform's most successful shows to date. Since its start, The Bold Type has focused on the power of female friendship and the importance of female-led journalism - two things that are still important today.

Despite being one of Freeform's best shows, it was announced that the fifth season would be the show's last. Fans are disappointed, especially after learning the final season would be shorter than the rest. However, they are hopeful that the writers will give these beloved characters the endings they deserve.

Scarlet Survives

Scarlet Magazine has been the center point of The Bold Type since the beginning. In fact, it's how Kat, Jane, and Slone met each other. As the show's center point, Scarlet has become a main character in its own right going through highs and lows just like the human characters.

While Scarlet has narrowly scraped by season after season, fans are hopeful that the magazine continues to thrive and that the show doesn't end with them closing down. So far, it's looking good for the future of Scarlet but fans are still keeping their fingers crossed.

Kat Finds Her Passion Again

Kat Edison has had quite the journey over the course of the show's five seasons. She started out as Scarlett's killer social media manager who was damn good at her job. However, that job ended when Kat put her morals before her job doing what was right instead of being silenced.

Since then Kat has run a nearly successful city council campaign before landing as a bartender at an exclusive female-only club. While there's no doubt Kat is successful in whatever she puts her mind to, fans are hopeful that Kat will get her mojo back and go back to being a kickass social media activist.

Sutton Feels Secure In Her Life Choices

Like Kat, Sutton Brady hasn't always had it easy. She has a complicated relationship with her single mother, she spent several years as an assistant, and she's not always secure in her choices. However, Sutton has also grown tremendously since fans first met her in the pilot.

She's worked her way from assistant to a stylist as Scarlett and she finally spoke her mind and stuck to her goals instead of giving in to make her relationship work. Despite making choices that she believes are right, Sutton continues to worry she's messed everything up which is why fans want to see Sutton accept the future she's carving out for herself without looking back.

Jane Continues To Be A Kick-Ass Feminist Journalist

While The Bold Type focuses on the lives of all three girls, there is no denying that Jane Sloan is the main character. Like her friends, Jane has been through a lot over the course of the show's five seasons but she's finally where she's always wanted to be.

Jane has created a name for herself in the journalism world by going after difficult stories that expose the not-so-great aspects of life. Fans are hoping Jane continues on with her goals to change the world, one hard-hitting empowering story at a time.

Minor Characters Get A Proper Ending

The Bold Type doesn't just have an amazing main cast of characters, but they also have really interesting minor characters. From Andrew, Jacelyn's opinionated assistant, to Alex, one of the few male writers at Scarlett, these minor characters have all played a huge role in what makes the show so special.

With only six episodes in the final season, it might be hard to give everyone the ending they deserve, but fans are still hopeful that their beloved secondary characters get proper closure too.

The Girls Get Their Happily Ever Afters

It's not often that a show enters their final season with all of their main characters single and yet that's exactly what The Bold Type has done. With Kat, Jane, and Sutton all single for the first time since the show began it'll be interesting to see what happens with their love lives.

Fans are hopeful that their favorite pairings become "endgame" but it'll take a lot of work to get these girls back in healthy and happy relationships. It seems unlikely that all three girls will end the show single so it'll be interesting to see what happens.

A Time Jump

With only six episodes in the final season, there's not much The Bold Type can do that's too drastic. However, something that fans are open to is for the show to feature a time jump in some capacity.

The final season already started where the fourth season left off but that doesn't mean that a time jump is out of the question entirely. The show could insert a time jump at any part or opt for a traditional ending where the time jump occurs in the finale. Regardless, fans are hopeful that they'll get a glimpse of what Kat, Jane, and Sutton's lives are like when they are no longer twentysomething.

Familiar Faces Return

Ben, Richard, Adena, and Pinstripe

Like the many minor characters on The Bold Type, the series has had several reoccurring characters that show up every once in a while. Most of them happen to be love interests for the trio which is why fans are hopeful that they resurface before the show wraps up this summer.

One of the most likely to return is Richard, Sutton's soon-to-be ex-husband since they're going to have to deal with a divorce and figuring out what to do with her apartment. On the happier side of things, fans are hoping Adena resurfaces and perhaps even "Pinstripe," Jane's on-again-off-again boyfriend.

The Girls' Friendship Is Stronger Than Ever

From the very beginning, The Bold Type has centered most of its show around the core friendship Jane, Kat, and Sutton have found with each other. They've gone from assistants to killer girl bosses who can do anything they set their mind to. Beyond that, they're always there for each other through the highs and lows.

While the girls have had their rough patches here and there, they always seem to make it work which is why fans are hopeful that nothing will threaten their friendship in the final season.

More Gorgeous Fashion Pieces

Like many fashion-centered shows before them, a huge drawing point of The Bold Type is the gorgeous fashion pieces that appear in the show. From styling clients for photoshoots and fashion shows to Kat, Jane, and Sutton's everyday wardrobe, the fashion in the show is otherworldly.

Given that this is the show's final season, fans hope that the costume department won't hold back. They expect to see the girls in their best outfits yet and maybe even see Sutton style for a famous designer or two.
