Why would the FBI's Most Wanted just walked into their lobby and give himself up? That was the question fans had on their mind in the first few seconds on the hit NBC show The Blacklist. Who exactly is Raymond Reddington and what does he want with Elizabeth Keen?

In the first season, we were given 22 episodes of thrilling, yet mysterious storylines only to be just as confused when the season ended. As great as the season was, there were a few moments where nothing added up. Here are the 5 best & worst episodes of The Blacklist during Season 1, according to IMDb.

Best: The Pavlovich Brothers (Episode 19) - 8.6

Liz is afraid that Tom has figured out that she knows he's living a double life. While Red continues to be open with her regarding Tom, there is still something he's leaving out. Meanwhile, the Pavlovich Brothers are back in DC in an attempt to kidnap another person right from under the FBI's noses.

With Liz now following Tom, Red wants her to keep a level head but being the wife of a man hiding secrets is hard and Liz goes against Reddington's wishes. Back at home, Tom confronts Liz about her whereabouts that day and Tom instantly knows that Liz is on to him.

Worst: General Ludd (Episode 8) - 8.0

America is almost taken hostage by Nathaniel Wolfe and his General Ludd Organization. Liz receives news that her father is sicker than she thought but he assures her not to worry. General Ludd has all aircrafts grounded as the Task Force races around the clock to stop the terrorists.

Meanwhile, there is a serious issue brewing between Sam, Liz, and Reddington. Will the truth finally come out? Reddington, still not wanting to divulge much to Liz kills a close friend of his in order to keep the truth hidden. Saddened by her father's death, Liz seeks comforts in the man who killed her father.

Best: Berlin (Episode 21) - 8.7

Elizabeth Keen is upset and wants nothing to do with Raymond Reddington or the Task Force. Instead of working with Red, she would rather leave and hands Harold Cooper her resignation papers. Red asks if her issue with him will prevent her from saving innocent lives. Liz agrees to work this last case with Reddington.

Liz learns of the FBI's plan to incarcerate Red and even goes as far as to warn him and tell him to run. Red refuses, knowing that will mean the end of their budding relationship. But the hunt for Berlin is still on.

Worst: The Judge (Episode 15) - 8.0

We begin to learn more about who Tom Keen really is. Meanwhile, there is an attack on civilians who may have gotten away with doing crimes while the innocents are rotting in jail. The Judge is a person who has decided to play the role of a vigilante of sorts. Despite his intentions, he's still a murderer and must be brought down.

Tom might be having an affair but we would soon later find out that was not the case. His employer believes that Tom is compromised and his mission may be in danger. His job was to make the victim fall for him but it seems as if he's the one who has fallen.

Best: Berlin - Conclusion (Episode 22) - 9.0

With the Task Force targeted and Raymond Reddington in prison, Red must devise a plan to save his friends and, most importantly, Liz. But can he do it in time? Red and Alan Fitch plan an escape but nothing ever goes as smoothly as planned. Ressler and Meera are ambushed and there is still the case of who is the big Russian on the plane. Was it Berlin?

Liz gets the truth about her adopted father Sam as Reddington tells her the story of why he killed Sam. It was all done to protect her. Berlin is right under their noses but he managed to escape.

Worst: The Courier (Episode 5) - 7.9

Reddington and the Task Force are hunting a person calling themselves The Courier. He's paid to travel with highly-sensitive material. If you cross his path and try to disrupt his job, he will kill you. Red has to approach this one with a delicate touch as the memory card the Courier is carrying is worth $20M.

On the other side of the storyline is still the Liz and Tom issue. There are secrets being kept and no one is willing to let the cat out of the bag. When Liz gets home, she tells Tom they need to talk. Tom agrees and shows Liz the empty box where the gun used to be.

Best: Anslo Garrick (Episode 9) - 9.0

Liz is beginning to have flashbacks to the night of the fire after she finds a slightly burned stuffed animal while cleaning out her father's belongings. Ressler and Meera inform Red that Garrick wants him dead and Red is convinced there is a mole in the FBI. A few moments later, Garrick's team moves in on Red's location and a battle ensues.

Garrick has Red and Dembe, Ressler is hurt and at that moment, Red is prepared to die. Little does he know that Liz has been captured trying to save the rest of her team in the bunker as well.

Worst: Wujing (Episode 3) - 7.8

The Chinese kill a CIA agent to gain access to a computer and the only person who can help is Raymond Reddington. He calls in the FBI and provides them with another Blacklister. While hunting the attackers, Elizabeth still has questions for Red concerning his involvement in her life.

She wants to know more about her past but is still curious about the gun she found inside of Tom's box. As usual, Red has a personal reason for each Blacklister and this one is no different. Meanwhile, Liz has no idea she's being watched as a surveillance team has set up camp outside of her home.

Best: Anslo Garrick - Conclusion (Episode 10) - 9.0

In a daring move, Red puts a gun to Ressler's head for the code to get out of the box. He's then captured along with Elizabeth and transported in an ambulance to the next location. Liz escapes and seeks help outside of the Task Force. Meanwhile, Red is taken to a warehouse where he's being questioned by Alan Fitch regarding information only Reddington knows.

Red escapes then calls Liz, which begins one of the biggest mysteries on The Blacklist. Liz asks Reddington if he's her father and Red denies it. But before he gets off the phone, he tells Liz to be careful of her husband Tom Keen.

Worst: Fredrick Barnes (Episode 7) - 7.8

Fredrick Barnes is a smart man desperate for a solution to his son's illness. In order to receive the hope he needs, he does something drastic and deadly. He unleashes a toxic disease in order to get the funding needed for the antidote for his own child.

Liz and Reddington are having one of their spats as Liz is still in denial that Tom is hiding something from her. Despite Red being truthful, Liz sees this as some sort of attack to separate her from her husband. Red buys his old house and instead of living in the moment, he decides to blow it up to forget the memories.
