Catwoman actor Zoë Kravitz is working hard to stay in shape for her role in the new superhero reboot, The Batman. Directed by Matt Reeves and starring Robert Pattinson, the new Batman film is a fresh start for the character. It is not expected to take place in the same continuity as previous iterations. Years ago, Ben Affleck was expected to reprise his role from Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Still, those plans ultimately fell apart, and the character was recast with Pattinson taking on the iconic cowl of the caped crusader.

The film's supporting cast consists of a whos-who of famous faces, from Paul Dano as The Riddler to Colin Farrell as The Penguin, as well as Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon and Andy Serkis as Alfred, Bruce Wayne's trusted butler. Zoë Kravitz is playing Catwoman, which is interesting, considering she voiced a more comedic version of the character in 2017's The LEGO Batman Movie. One of Batman's most iconic villains, Catwoman, had previously been played in live-action by actors as varied as Anne Hathaway, Michelle Pfeiffer, Halle Berry, Julie Newmar, and Eartha Kitt, among others.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, Kravitz discussed her recent role in Hulu's High Fidelity television adaptation, and the conversation inevitably turned to The Batman, which had only just begun production when Hollywood was effectively shut down by the coronavirus pandemic. As a result, Kravitz has been caught in something of a limbo, having to be responsible for her superhero physique even while the production has yet to establish a restart date.

While she's not absolutely dedicated to her diet and exercise regimen, she's taking care to not fall entirely off the wagon, so to speak. As she puts it in the interview, "I'm definitely eating whatever the f*** I want. But yeah, (I) try to stay in decent shape so I don't have to start from scratch."

To that end, she's been working out five days a week with a personal trainer through virtual classes, which helps her keep from feeling too guilty when it comes to her diet, which likely contains more wine than her trainer would have her consume. Nevertheless, she's laying down the groundwork so that when she can finally return to work, she won't have to undergo a hardcore boot camp regimen just to fit into her costume.
