A new The Batman promo for DC FanDome 2021 highlights Robert Pattinson's Dark Knight voice. This coming weekend, the biggest stars from the DC universe come together for the annual convention. This year's line-up is quite impressive, but arguably one of the most highly-anticipated panels is for Matt Reeves' upcoming film, The Batman.

Ben Affleck was originally set to star, write, and direct the aforementioned project, but after he decided to exit the DCEU, the movie was totally overhauled. Pattinson was brought in to play the newest iteration of the Caped Crusader, and his narrative will take place in an entirely different universe. The first trailer for The Batman was released during DC FanDome 2020, amidst the movie's principal photography which was hampered by delays due to the coronavirus pandemic. Interestingly, Reeves was also quite liberal in sharing pertinent information about the project. He revealed that Pattinson's Dark Knight is in his second year of operating as a superhero, but is quite frustrated that he has yet to see the changes he wants to happen in Gotham.

To further drive up the hype for The Batman's panel at DC FanDome 2021, The Batman's official Twitter account released a brand promo clip. The video showcases Pattinson's Dark Knight voice more than any other previous material. In it, he describes the BatSignal as "a warning" and not just a signal. Check out the snippet below:

It's been previously confirmed that a new The Batman trailer will debut at DC FanDome. Pattinson shared that he and co-star Zoë Kravitz, who plays Catwoman, have filmed something fun for the event. There is no word yet as to whether the rest of the star-studded cast will appear, but chances are that at least some of them will, as the virtual convention will mark the start of official marketing for the movie. Among the stars that fans hope will appear on the panel include Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Paul Dano as the Riddler. After Reeves revealed details about Pattinson's new Bruce Wayne, audiences are eager to learn more about the blockbuster's supporting characters as well, particularly the villains.

Comparing Pattinson's Dark Knight voice to his predecessors like Christian Bale, the actor's version is less raspy, and his actual voice is more audible. It's possible that this was a creative decision from either Reeves' or Pattinson himself. It may have something to do with the fact that this version of Bruce Wayne/Batman is fairly new to the vigilante life. As the years go by, his voice may become deeper and rougher, similar to his older counterparts. Since Pattinson is British, it's worth noting that his American accent is also quite impressive. As for the ominous line he delivers in the aforementioned clip, it will be interesting to see if this is dialog specifically made for the promo video, or if it will appear in the final cut of The Batman.
