A new fan poster for The Batman depicts Robert Pattinson's Batsuit in great detail as he looms over a burning Gotham City. The Batman will mark the third time the Caped Crusader has been revived for live-action adaptation in the last two decades. The much anticipated film is helmed by Matt Reeves of Cloverfield fame, and is to be released later this year. While little is known about the film, it has been confirmed that The Batman will contain fan favorite characters such as Catwoman (played by Zoe Kravitz), The Riddler (Paul Dano) and The Penguin (Colin Farrell).

The Batman is a film that is highly anticipated, especially as it comes directly on the heels of Ben Affleck's portrayal of the character in the DCEU. Affleck's performance often divided fans as did the DCEU films he appeared in. For others, the definitive Batman performance comes from Christian Bale in Christopher Nolan's acclaimed The Dark Knight trilogy. Since the release of the trailers for The Batman, audiences have been shown just a taste of what Pattinson will do with the role, but it's enough to ignite imaginations all the same.

This excitement for the new film can be seen in the fan art that continues to come out as more The Batman promotional material is released. Artist Yadvender Singh Rana has recently posted their interpretation of a poster for The Batman on their Instagram page. The artwork depicts Pattinson's Batman as he looms over a burning Gotham City. Surrounding the image of Gotham burning are depictions of many of the secondary characters. Farrell can be seen in his full Penguin makeup, as well as Dano in his mysterious duct tape inspired Riddler costume. Kravitz's Catwoman can also be seen behind the imposing shape of Batman. What is perhaps most striking about the image is its use of color. While most official posters for The Batman have opted for a strictly red and black color scheme, Rana's image is much more colorful, as the dark blue of the sky satisfyingly transitions into the bright burning of the city. This likely draws inspiration from the trailers for The Batman which show a similar stark color palette offset by shocks of bright color. Rana's rendition of Pattinson's Batsuit is also heavily detailed, likely drawing inspiration from what has been seen of the suit in trailers and images. As so many shots of the suit have been quite dark, the suit created for this fan poster shows off the details better than most official looks.

Through fan art like Rana's it is clear that excitement is growing at a fast rate for the release of The Batman. While there are some who may be apprehensive to see their favorite character reimagined once again (and there have certainly been some polarizing interpretations over the years), there is certainly something to be said for how much excitement surrounds the film. As it stands, the final result can be seen when The Batman is released on March 4th.
