Jamie Otis from The Bachelor and Married at First Sight may have cancerous tissue that was found during her pregnancy. The reality star and television host also disclosed that she has been diagnosed with HPV.

Otis' first foray into reality television was as a contestant on Ben Flajnik's season of The Bachelor. She later showed up as a single waiting to get hitched on Married at First Sight. Otis was paired with software engineer Hehner. Although there were no sparks between the couple at first, they committed to the union and have been married since 2014. Hehner and Otis are even hosts of the "Hot Marriage, Cool Parents" podcast. During their union, they've experienced plenty of growing pains including his issues with debt and cigarette smoking, as well as her mother's drug addiction and having to step in as a caretaker for her siblings. In the event that Otis' health problems prohibit her from having biological children in the future, she also revealed that she'd be open to adoption.

Otis made the startling admission on her December 4th Instagram post. She told her followers that she went in for a pap smear and a pregnancy check-up. While under the doctor's care, Otis learned that her physician saw dysplasia in her cervix, which can be an early sign of cancer. She'll have to wait until after her pregnancy to get a biopsy. Despite this latest challenge, Otis wrote that she's thankful for her health and committed to staying positive. The reality star's diagnosis is concerning since she's suffered multiple miscarriages, including a pregnancy in early 2019. She and husband, Doug Hehner, have a 2-year-old daughter named Henley. Otis is currently 17 weeks pregnant with a son. She posted all about it in her Instagram post seen below:

Otis revealed to Us Weeklysaying, "I always, always wanted to have a lot of kids so A, they had each other, and B, so I could build my own family and have people at the Thanksgiving table, every single year guaranteed," She explained, "I really want to have at least four kids." Otis also explained in her post that she won't really find out if she actually does have cancer or not until after the baby is born, she said, "So I just have to wait until after I have the baby to really know what’s going on inside me, but I’m just putting the positive vibes out there & praying & being so THANKFUL for my health."

What devastating news to receive during the holiday season. However, Jamie Otis is an excellent role model for expectant mothers everywhere. Despite her current diagnosis and the uncertain future she faces, she's chosen to handle the news with grace. Throughout her path to parenthood, she and Hehner have been transparent about their struggles, which is worth its weight in gold to other couples quietly struggling to conceive or bring children to term. Otis won't know for sure whether she's out of the woods for months, but she's likely to share whatever news she gets with her fans. Until then, the same people who garner strength from her honest discussions will be there to cheer her on or lend support - whichever is needed - when the time comes.
