Tayshia Adams was officially announced as The Bachelorette on Thursday night after Clare Crawley left the show to purpose a relationship with contestant, Dale Moss. For the executives of the show, it was a no-brainer for them to replace Clare with Tayshia.

The audience was first introduced to Tayshia when she competed for Colton Underwood's heart on his season of The Bachelor. Underwood broke up with her during the overnight date portion of the show, as he was only in love with fellow contestant, Cassie Randolph. Tayshia went on to join the following season of Bachelor in Paradise, where she fell for John Paul Jones. The relationship did not work out and they broke up less than two months later. Now Tayshia is about to go on her own journey to find love.

According to People, ABC executive Rob Mills told Variety that choosing Tayshia as Clare's replacement was an "instinctual" decision. Mills revealed that the producers decided to reach out to Tayshia after they realized that Clare's feelings for Dale were very clear at this point. "The producers started discussing like, 'What would happen if she wants to leave with Dale?'" Mills said. "And that’s when the producers thought that maybe we should reach out to Tayshia." Production had a feeling Clare would end up leaving early with Dale and wanted a replacement so the show could still continue. Thanks to their quick thinking, the show can go on and now Tayshia has a chance to find love on the show. Thursday nights episode showed Clare leaving the group of men so she could pursue a relationship with Dale. Clare wanted to get to know the rest of the other guys, but she knew nothing could compare to what she had with Dale. The couple did end up engaged at the end and looked excited to start their new life together.

Mills also revealed in his interview that Tayshia and Clare are not as different as many may think. "Tayshia had been through a divorce, so I think there is a lot of maturity that comes with that, and she is super serious about settling down, just like Clare," he revealed. "Also, you have to remember that we cast a lot of guys that weren’t necessarily announced for Clare because she was announced as the Bachelorette so late, so some of these guys would have been there for someone else that was chosen as the lead, anyway." Tayshia may be a few years younger than Clare, but she is wise beyond her years. Going through a divorce in your mid-20's will mature any faster then one may realize. Tayshia got a taste of married life and probably misses having someone to go home to every night. While Tayshia did have some hurdle to jump through, Mills can assure the fans that her ending worked out very well for her.

Needless to say, Tayshia was definitely the right choice as the lead following Clare's exit. Her time as The Bachelorette is about to begin and we cannot wait to see how her love story will unfold.

The Bachelorette airs Tuesday's at 8pm EST on ABC.
