Reality television fans best know Joe Amabile as "Grocery Store Joe." Viewers first met him when he appeared on Becca Kurfin's season of The Bachelorette in 2018. The grocery store owner and operator was sent packing after the first episode, and fans never felt like he got a fair shake at love.

However, Joe's reality television days didn't end with Becca and The Bachelorette. He also performed on Dancing With the Stars and Bachelor in Paradise, where he fell for beautiful Kendall Long. Joe's fans were thrilled that the handsome, down-to-earth fellow seemed to be happy and in love finally. Unfortunately, the love Joe and Kendall found didn't last. They parted ways earlier this year, and Joe is back on the market. Still, he won't be single for long as he has proven to be quite an interesting figure...

Moves Like Jagger

Joe Amabile didn't take home the top award on his season of Dancing with the Stars, but the guy can move. Sure, he forgot all of his moves in his first routine, leaving his professional partner Jenna mortified, but he got it together and made it all the way to the semi-finals.

Joe was somewhat relieved to finally be let go from the series, saying that he knew he wasn't the very best dancer, but perhaps the best smiler. Fans clearly thought that Grocery Store Joe had enough moves to keep him in the running, or maybe it was his smile that did it.

The Grocery Business Isn't His Only Business

Joe is best known for trying to win Becca's heart on The Bachelorette, but he is also well known for owning a Chicago grocery store, which he is very proud of. Joe's occupation is something that he has always been proud of, and it made him stand out in regards to possible suitors and their lines of work.

Many people are not aware that the produce business is not Joe's only business. Amabile is also an equities trader. Between reality television, the grocery business, and day trading, Joe manages to keep quite busy.

Criminal Lineage

Joe doesn't have a criminal record, and his past is squeaky clean. His brother and father even work in law enforcement, and the family all appear to be stand up citizens.

However, if you move down Joe's family tree, there are some shaky characters, like Joe's grandfather. Grocery Store Joe's granddad was Joseph ‘Joe Shine’ Amabile. He was affiliated with organized crime and passed away in 1976.

Joe Is Big On Social Media

Grocery Store Joe is handsome, charismatic, and quite popular on social media. Because of his several reality television show appearances, along with his charming personality, Joe has garnished a large following on Twitter and Instagram.

The Chicago native has over seven hundred and fifty thousand followers on Instagram alone. Viewers can see why people are drawn to him, even if it is only through a social media following.

His Dream Date Is Simple

Joe is not a flashy guy and his down to earth persona makes him attractive too. Being on reality, dating shows often means ostentatious dates, which is not up Joe's alley. He prefers a simple date when getting to know a woman.

When asked what his perfect date might be, Joe said just dinner and perhaps a little wine. He said he isn't into whirlwind trips to faraway lands when taking a prospective partner out.

Italian Roots

Between Joe's last name and looking at Joe's dreamy, dark features, it isn't all that surprising to learn that he is of Italian descent. His roots run deep, and his Italian family was born and raised in Chicago, stemming all the way back to his grandparents. While the Italian genes are strong with Joe Amabile, he is not one hundred percent Italian. He is also about twenty-five percent Norwegian.

Grocery Store Discovery

Most contestants on The Bachelor and Bachelorette actively audition for the show in hopes of finding true love. However, Joe's Bachelorette stint happened much by accident. He was shopping at a Whole Foods store when a woman stopped him, asked if he was single, and informed him that he should audition for the famous franchise.

Joe thought to himself, why not? He assumed that he would be a fit for The Bachelor and decided to give it a try. However, he ended up on The Bachelorette trying to win Becca's heart.

Podcast Perfect

Joe is good at so many things, and one of those things is hosting a podcast. Because he is so likable and relatable, he was a perfect choice for hosting Click Bait, a podcast that he co-hosts along with former bachelorette, Tayshia Adams.

On the podcast, the reality stars, along with guest hosts, break down the whackiest headlines in pop culture, determining which are true and which are only clickbait.

He Is A Fun Guy

Joe is a hard worker. He also finds time to participate in reality television series' and has a background in stock trading. Joe is by no means a lazy guy. While Joe knows how to get down to business, he is not an all work-no play kind of guy.

Joe's favorite pastimes include hanging out with friends, and family, going to concerts, and dining out. Joe is also into travel and fitness. He particularly enjoys tennis.

Joe Isn't A Player

With looks and personality like Joe's, he would garner a lot of attention in the dating pool. But Joe isn't interested in just hooking-up with all of the single ladies in the Chicago area. In fact, before his reality television stint, Joe had not been in a real relationship for years.

He did find love briefly on Bachelor in Paradise, even moving in with Kendall Long following the show, but that relationship has since ended. Joe seems quite particular in who he spends his time with.
