When The Bachelorette season 19 finished airing in September 2022, Erich Schwer proposed to Gabby Windey to which she gladly accepted. The couple was happily together for a little while after the show, but they have recently broken up while the former Bachelorette competed on Dancing With The Stars. Even though many fans saw this coming, they did not know the reasoning behind it. Now, Gabby is explaining the circumstances behind her and the New Jersey native's split.
According to Bachelor Nation, Gabby stated that the end of their relationship happened because they weren't completely in sync with each other on their common goals or how they approach life. During the rehearsal package for her DWTS semi-finals performance, the former cheerleader also stated that the song that she was dancing to held a special meaning in her heart due to the post-Bachelorette break-up. However, Gabby had a strong support system that was helping her get through the difficult time.
Gabby Is Thankful for Her Friends and Family
Amid the breakup, the former Bachelorette said that she had her family and friends' support throughout the whole entire breakup. She stated that she is grateful that her dad and stepmom's marriage has all the qualities that she looks for in a relationship. Despite breaking up with Erich, Gabby never ruled out a relationship in the future.
Even though she was going through a breakup, Gabby was able to channel that emotion into one of her semi-final performances, earning her a perfect score for both dances and a place in the DWTS finale. Gabby had a one-in-four-shot of winning the competition and taking home the Mirrorball Trophy. Viewers who tuned in to the show saw her final two dances in the competition, her redemption dance and her freestyle. These dances earned Gabby and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy the second place spot in the competition.
Even though The Bachelorette finished airing, Gabby still crushed it on Dancing With The Stars. Viewers have enjoyed her time on the show and were happy to see her make it far in the competition. However, if viewers want to see more love and drama, they can catch the new season of The Bachelor when it premieres in January, to see if Zach Shallcross can find love. There is bound to be drama as always, so viewers definitely won't want to miss out when the show returns.
