For the past couple of weeks, The Bachelorette has been in a state of flux. Reports emerged claiming Clare Crawley quit the show and was replaced by Tayshia Adams. Now, photos of Clare on set with Chris Harrison surfaced, and it looks like Clare is filming again. What could this mean for the upcoming season?
Earlier this month, it was announced that Clare wanted to leave The Bachelorette and was engaged to show contestant Dale Moss. The 39-year-old reportedly told producers she was in love and refused to come out of her room to film. Following this shocking news, Tayshia Adams seemingly replaced Clare as Bachelorette. Photos were taken of Tayshia on set at La Quinta Resort in Palm Springs, California. Rumors around the season increased when former Bachelorette and recently single Becca Kufrin arrived at La Quinta Resort, as well as last season’s runner-up, Hannah Ann Sluss. The producers seemed to be struggling with what to do, and they insisted that Clare’s decision to leave was a complete blindside. The coronavirus pandemic has only made things more complicated, with each star having to quarantine at the resort before filming.
Today, ET reported that there were new pictures of Clare filming at La Quinta Resort with Chris Harrison. It was unclear whether Clare had been at La Quinta during this controversy, or if she left and returned. Chris Harrison was also absent from set over this past week, as he was moving his son Joshua into college in Texas. Former Bachelorette Jojo Fletcher filled in for him as host while he was gone. In these new photos, Clare wears a red evening gown and Chris wears a black and white suit, his typical attire for a rose ceremony. Clare is smiling in every picture, as she and Chris face a producer set up with a camera. It is unclear whether Clare returned to film as the Bachelorette, to give more information on her present situation, or to pass the role to Tayshia. ET confirmed last week that Clare’s journey would be shown alongside Tayshia’s, and fans would get to see what happened with Clare regardless of whether she continued to be Bachelorette. This return to filming could be the end of her journey, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
Clare has also been spotted on set looking casual with her dog, Honey, and an unnamed man. This setup could have been a date or a meeting with a producer. So much is up in the air with the cast and crew quarantined at La Quinta Resort.
According to ET, sources have not confirmed whether Clare is in a relationship with a show contestant, so there is a possibility that she has returned to film the show. However, a source did say to ET that, “Tayshia got a fresh start as Bachelorette,” so it looks like Tayshia started filming. This is the first time that a lead has been switched mid-season; will it finally be the most dramatic season in the history of The Bachelor?
