Former star of The Bachelor Nick Viall is making the career move from reality TV star to actor, but he isn't too concerned because he feels people aren't expecting much from his acting skills. Fans are much more accustomed to seeing the 39 yr old star in a reality tv setting.

Viall first came to the public attention when he appeared as a contestant on The Bachelorette in 2014. He had remained in the public eye ever since. After finishing 2nd in two consecutive Bachelorette seasons, and an appearance on Bachelor in Paradise that ended without a successful relationship, Vial finally got a guaranteed finish as leading man on The Bachelor season 21. He finally got his fiance when he proposed to Canadian contestant Vanessa Grimaldi, a special education teacher during the finale and she accepted. Sadly they broke up the following August. Not yet ready to say goodbye to reality tv, Viall's next moves were seen on Dancing with the Stars alongside professional ballroom dancer Peta Murgatroyd. This time however it appears Viall is leaving reality TV behind in exchange for the big screen.

His latest acting venture has the former Bachelor playing - wait for it - a reality TV star. Viall will be appearing in the Eko exclusive interactive series made in conjunction with Funny or Die called The Coop. Us Weekly spoke with Viall as well as creator Nora Fitzpatrick, who called the show "Big Brother meets Clue." She sang the reality TV star's praises as she called him "very talented" and went on to say "He was there on set 100 percent as an actor. He did a wonderful, wonderful job." Viall expressed his excitement at the opportunity to work with co-stars like Veep's Tony Hale and actor Brian Huskey from People of Earth. He is taking his current career moves seriously and even sought advice from friend's actor Topher Grace and his wife Ashley Hinshaw. Luckily, however, he isn't feeling too much pressure. He joked to Us Weekly saying, "I assume people have very low expectations when it comes to my acting career so I feel like, nowhere to go but up!"

Nick Viall The Bachelor

This isn't the ABC star's first foray into acting, however. The former Bachelorette contestant actually made his acting debut as Bob the hotel cruise manager in the Vivica A. Fox holiday movie, A Christmas Cruise. He went on to guest appearances on both Speechless and Teachers as well as playing himself on General Hospital. Having recently been linked to OC actress Rachel Bilson, the public seems much more interested in his romantic life at the moment. A fact not lost on Viall said he's looking forward to a time when "people care more about my acting career or podcasts or other things I’m doing rather than who I’m not dating. That would be great."

Is the public ready for Nick Viall the actor? We will see. As he makes this transition it's unlikely that his fans will lose interest in his dating life, which is only fair considering he came to fame on multiple dating shows - but maybe there is room for both. The Coop, which is both hilarious and as an interactive show, is tapping into the next hot thing in viewing, seems to be a great place to stretch his acting chops. While an Oscar may not be in his foreseeable future, his fans are ready to see more of the 39-year-old hunk so they will be tuning into whatever project comes next.
