The CW's The 100 is a show in which the main characters are constantly fighting to survive various apocalyptic scenarios. They've been sent to a radioactive Earth, attacked by armies of warriors, had their bone marrow stolen, been brainwashed by an AI, had their Earth destroyed a second time... and even a third time at the end of Season 5. Fans of the show are constantly theorizing about how the main crew of characters will manage to escape or outwit their enemies.

However, this doesn't stop a second form of theorizing popular among fans: figuring out who to ship Clarke Griffin with. If you ask a fan of The 100, chances are they'll tell you Clarke should end up with her best friend and leadership partner, Bellamy Blake. But here are ten people Clarke fits better with than Bellamy.

King Roan

Roan on the throne in The 100

Even though everyone around Clarke is constantly berating her for the choices she makes, these choices have helped all of the characters to survive — and if anyone understands the burden of making difficult choices as a leader, it's King Roan of Azgeda.

Sadly, this character died in the final conclave when black rain struck during his fight against Luna. (Ironically, if he had listened to Clarke's advice to form an alliance before the conclave, he might have survived.) Still, with Clarke's cunning strategies and Roan's battle prowess, they would have been a serious power couple.

Octavia Blake

The 100 Octavia in Season 6 Episode 2

During the six years Octavia spent in the bunker, she learned what it was like to make tough choices as a leader. Despite betraying her, Clarke rarely criticizes Octavia during this season, and even seems to understand her choices at times. Clarke's habit of being two steps ahead of everyone would intertwine nicely with Octavia's ambition and determination.

John Murphy

The friendship — or at minimum, alliance — between John Murphy and Clarke Griffin has been one of the most entertaining on the show. Their constant bantering and bickering run in juxtaposition to how much they come to rely on each other. Most of the fans ship John Murphy with Emori (and the couple has been together for most of the show) but if something were to happen to "Memori," Clarke would be a good match for John. After all, they're both rogues with a penchant for outwitting their enemies and surviving despite all odds stacked against them.

Josephine Prime

The 100 Josephine wakes up in Clarke's body

In Season 6 we got to see Clarke develop one of the most interesting relationships on the entire show while she shared a body and mind with Josephine Prime. Due to lines and scenes included in the promo but not found in the actual season, fans suspect that many of the mind space scenes between Josephine and Clarke were cut from the final episodes.

Josephine and Clarke are both ambitious survivors. Josephine stays focused on improving Sanctum and learning about Planet Alpha long after her fellow Primes give up. Furthermore, she and Clarke both love painting, languages, and are fierce when it comes to protecting people they love. Josephine seems to be dead or inactive for now, but with the anomaly still a question mark, maybe we'll see her again before the end of the series.

Gabriel Santiago

Since Josephine was in Clarke's mind and shared many of her memories with her, there could be a chance that Clarke now has feelings for Gabriel. As the Commander of Death, it'd be beautifully fitting for Clarke to end up with someone whose catchphrase is "Death is life," and who aims to end immortality.

Like Josephine, Gabriel also never neglected his studies, and continued investigating the anomaly throughout all his years in exile.  t's clear that Gabriel is hiding some information he's not ready to share with the main crew, and that's a very Clarke Griffin thing to do. The scenes Clarke and Gabriel share already show them forming a supportive bond, so perhaps that will develop further in the final season.

Niylah

Niylah's first appearance is in "Wanheda (Part 1)," the Season 3 premiere. She's a grounder trader that Clarke brings her kills to in exchange for food and goods while she avoids Arcadia after pulling the lever in Mount Weather. Clarke is extremely vulnerable during this time, and she forms a strong bond with Niylah that is reinforced later when Clarke brings Raven to Niylah's outpost to remove the chip.

Clarke makes sure that Niylah is staying at Arcadia throughout the events leading up to Praimfaya because she hopes to keep Niylah safe. Years later, when Niylah and Clarke reunite, Niylah has newfound loyalties to Octavia, but it's easy to see that her fondness for Clarke hasn't gone away.

Macallan

Macallan The 100

Only appearing in one episode, Macallan is a singer and piano player portrayed by the actor and singer/songwriter Shawn Mendes. The cameo was unexpected but welcome since music played such a huge role in the Mount Weather plotline after Maya gave her iPod to Jasper. Not much is known about Macallan's character — just that he knows Raven, tried to steal something, and made up for it by playing a song. When Jasper attacks him for playing on Mount Weather's piano, Macallan fights back, looking both angry and emotionally hurt about being attacked.  Despite the lack of details about his character, Shawn Mendes' appearance on the show has been an inside joke to fans for a while. Jason Rothenberg, showrunner on The 100 has confirmed Macallan's character survived Praimfaya and is now in cryo-sleep.

We don't know what a relationship with Clarke would be like, but if it means more Macallan, we're here for it.

Wells Jaha

Wells on the Ark

Going back to Season 1, the most perfect match for Clarke would have been her childhood best friend, Wells Jaha. In the early episodes, Clarke incorrectly blames Wells for her dad being floated, and that causes immense tension between them. Later, we find out that Wells got arrested so he could be sent to the ground with Clarke.

Wells was never responsible for what happened to her father, and he felt guilty about the way that Clarke was treated when she tried to alert the arc to the life support system failure. We'll never get to know how Clarke and Wells would have been together since he died very early in the show, but if their past is any indication it would have been sweet to see them progress to something more.

Lexa

Clarke and Lexa preparing for war in The 100 Season 2

Clexa (or the ship name for Clarke and Lexa) was the strongest ship on the show until Alycia Debnam-Carey left The 100 to be on Fear The Walking Dead and the writers of The 100 killed off Lexa's character tragically. Lexa and Clarke were both leaders of their communities, and together they formed a strong alliance that was difficult to contend with, though the Ice Queen and the Mountain Men certainly tried. Though Lexa died in Clarke's arms, her spirit lived on in The Flame for several seasons.

In Season 5, Lexa showed Madi her memories of abandoning Clarke at Mount Weather to try to convince Clarke not to abandon Bellamy. Though The Flame seems to be broken, if it were to be repaired, we may see a Dollhouse-type ending for Clarke with Lexa living on in her head if she takes The Flame.

Finn Collins

Fans didn't know whether to call this ship Finnarke or Flarke. Similarly, fans weren't even sure whether they liked Finn with Clarke. Part of this trepidation was the love triangle writers were setting up between Clarke, Bellamy, and Finn. Clarke and Finn also ended tragically, when she was forced to kill him by stabbing him in the chest to spare him death by torture. Finn died so early that it's hard to say whether or not he and Season 6 Clarke would even get along. But since Monty instilled the thought of doing better into Clarke's actions, it seems like Clarke and Finn would have gotten along a lot better than they did in Season 1, what with Finn's lawful good ways.
