2022 is set to be a spectacular year for movies, and one of the year's most hotly anticipated releases is Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. This upcoming installment in the Fantastic Beasts franchise has sparked much interest online, with many theories and rumors circulating the internet regarding the film's contents.

Some of these suggestions from fans are especially weird, as they propose some potentially bizarre plot points regarding beloved characters and creatures from the Wizarding World. If these viewers are to be believed, then the third Fantastic Beasts movie could be going in some truly wild directions, making it one of the series' craziest movies yet.

Queenie Is Snape’s Grandmother

Queenie is pointing her wand forwards as its tip glows blue, whilst Snape is standing against a brown background.

Whilst on the surface Queenie seems a kind-hearted woman, The Crimes Of Grindelwald reflects a darker side to her character, as she decides to join forces with Grindelwald. This shadier aspect to Queenie's personality has seen fans theorizing that she could have a hidden connection to one of Harry Potter's murkiest heroes, with Reddit user MeowSwiftie13 pondering if she could be Snape's grandmother.

This would provide a fun reference to the Harry Potter series, with Queenie becoming partly responsible for one of Dumbledore's most trusted allies. Like Queenie, Snape is also capable of reading minds, which is an ability passed through genetics. If Queenie is his grandmother, then he could have inherited this rare skill through his mother's side of the family, making this theory extremely likely to come true.

Jacob Is A Wizard

As a No-Maj individual, Jacob finds himself entranced by the Wizarding community during his adventures with Newt. One Reddit theory suggests Jacob may not be as ordinary as he seems, however, with Reddit's meryown07 suggesting that he may become a wizard in the upcoming movie.

Jacob discovering he has innate magical abilities is something fans have long wanted to see, with many believing Jacob should have been a wizard from the start. The latest Fantastic Beasts 3 trailer also supports this idea, with one scene showing Jacob handling a wand. Whilst the No-Maj baker may seem an unlikely candidate to be a wizard, his magical capabilities may have previously gone undetected, with The Secrets Of Dumbledore finally exposing his spellcasting skills.

Tina Is A Pigeon

One of the biggest surprises regarding Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets Of Dumbledore's recent trailer regards the absence of Tina, who fulfilled a prominent role within the previous two movies. One fan has a particularly strange proposition regarding the character's no-show, as Twitter user @JennCNS suggests Tina could be taking on the form of a pigeon.

This rather absurd concept is perhaps not as improbable as it seems. The Harry Potter films have previously shown magical folk taking on animal forms, by becoming an Animagus. It is possible therefore that Tina has also acquired this skill. Transforming herself into a pigeon would give Tina a considerable advantage, as she uses her flight abilities to spy on Grindelwald and his followers from above.

The Two McGonagalls

Considered by fans to be the best Hogwarts professor, McGonagall's appearance in The Crimes Of Grindelwald proved a standout moment for many moviegoers. Unfortunately, however, the character's cameo makes little sense, as McGonagall is shown to be a teacher at Hogwarts before she was even born. Reddit poster Rrrrrolando reckons this issue may be resolved in The Secrets Of Dumbledore, with two Professor McGonnagals meeting in the third movie.

This idea does have precedent within the Harry Potter universe, with McGonnagal having previously been shown to own a Time Turner, which grants her the ability to travel in time. This theory is not only plausible but could also allow for one of Fantastic Beasts' coolest moments, as two versions of the iconic Hogwarts professor meet for the first time.

Dementors Are Born From The Obscurus

A dementor entering the train in Prisoner of Azkaban

Dementors are arguably among the Wizarding World's creepiest creatures, with their ability to suck the souls from witches and wizards creating a distinctly unsettling vibe. The origins of these sinister monsters are somewhat unclear, however, Reddit's Fifa_1995 has suggested The Secrets Of Dumbledore may reveal that they were "born" from an Obscurus.

Whilst this link between these two magical beings may appear unlikely, there are a few similarities that add considerable weight behind this concept. Both of these dark magical forces feed on negative energy, such as sadness and grief. Additionally, when Newt chose to keep an Obscurus in his suitcase, he placed it in a cold environment, similar to the climates where Dementors tend to thrive. This suggests a deeper connection between the Dementors and the Obscurus than fans may realize.

Tom Riddle's Gift To Hagrid

Tom Riddle is standing opposite Hagrid in The Chamber Of Secrets.

As one of the Harry Potter series' most nefarious wizards, Voldemort - otherwise known as Tom Riddle - has provided some of the most evil Harry Potter quotes. According to one Reddit user, he may also be responsible for introducing one of this universe's most fearsome creatures to the Forbidden Forest. Fifa1995 believes the upcoming movie may feature Tom gifting a young Hagrid with his beloved pet Aragog.

Tom befriending Hagrid may seem like unusual behavior from the powerful wizard, given his hatred for half-breeds, but he may have viewed this gesture as a way to manipulate the half-giant in favor of his cause. Voldemort would later frame Hagrid for the opening of the Chamber Of Secrets, suggesting that he viewed the future Hogwarts gamekeeper as a means to an end. Tom's gifting of Aragog seems a likely prospect, reflecting the domineering wizard's scheming personality nicely.

The Film’s Events Are Fabricated By Rita Skeeter

With her dishonest and misleading news articles, Rita Skeeter is one of the Wizarding World's least trustworthy witches. Her deceitful nature has sparked one of Secrets Of Dumbledore's weirdest theories, as Twitter user @GuineaPigDan suggests the upcoming film may reveal the series' narratives to have been fabricated by Rita Skeeter.

Rita has form for delivering her own unique take on events within this universe, having previously portrayed Harry Potter as Hermione's lovesick boyfriend within the pages of the Daily Prophet. With a further two sequels confirmed following this third installment, however, it seems somewhat doubtful that Warner Bros. would decide to retcon the franchise in this manner.

Grindelwald Is A Dumbledore

Mads Mikkelsen as Grindelwald in Harry Potter's Fantastic Beasts 3

Grindelwald - who has delivered some of Fantastic Beasts' most evil quotes - is responsible for one of the series' biggest twists, as he reveals Credence to be a Dumbledore. The troubled child may not be the only surprise addition to Albus's family, however, as Twitter user @pixieXuk has suggested Grindelwald may be a Dumbledore himself.

With Dumbledore and Grindelwald having previously been romantic partners, it is possible that Gellert and Albus decided to marry. The pair were previously said to have taken part in a "blood pact ceremony," which may have acted as a Wizarding equivalent of a wedding. Albus and Gellert's intimate relationship makes this theory seem extremely likely, as the duo's clear bond could have resulted in them becoming closer than ever.

Credence Is The Obscurus Of Ariana Dumbledore

Credence is standing in front of Ariana Dumbledore's portrait.

Dumbledore has led something of a tragic life, having felt immense guilt from the death of his sister Ariana many years ago. Ariana's mental health struggles have seen fans draw comparisons between Dumbledore's late sibling and Credence, with Twitter's @Wheretty proposing that Credence was genetically created by Albus and Gellert to house Ariana's Obscurus.

Ariana's issues sound strikingly similar to Credence's situation, which lends credibility to the theory that he houses her Obscurial form. As with Credence, Dumbledore's sister was also bullied and belittled over her spellcasting abilities.  With an Obscurus said to be created when a witch or wizard represses their magic capabilities, @Wheretty's proposition has a high chance of becoming true.

Bunty Is Actually Tina

Tina brandishes her wand, whilst Bunty smiles at somebody off-camera.

First seen briefly in The Crimes Of Grindelwald, Bunty provides Newt with valuable assistance regarding his collection of magical creatures. The magizoologist's assistant is set to feature in a more prominent role within The Secrets Of Dumbledore, which has surprised many viewers given her previous lack of screentime. According to Twitter's @_Potter_Head_21, however, Bunty's appearance in the latest trailer may actually be Tina in disguise.

This wouldn't be the first time a magical individual has posed as another witch or wizard. In The Deathly Hallows Part 2, for instance, Hermione uses Polyjuice Potion to take on Bellatrix Lestrange's form. Tina could be using the same method to disguise herself as Bunty.  With Bunty being a stranger to both Grindelwald and Queenie, this would allow Tina to get close to the pair without her presence being detected.
