Christina Applegate has been making audiences laugh and cry and laugh some more since the 80’s when she burst on the scene as Kelly Bundy in Married... with Children. Born and raised in Los Angeles by a father, who was a record executive, and a mother, who was an actress, Christina seemed like she was destined for superstardom in the movies. As fate would have it, this was meant to be.

It all started back when Christina’s mother would bring her daughter to auditions. When Christina was just five months old, she booked her first job in a commercial for Playtex nursers. Since then, Christina has starred in various films, television shows, and stage productions where she delivers real, authentic, and brilliant performances every time. Here are the 10 performances that IMDb users consider to be the best of her career.

In the follow up to the Alvin and the Chipmunks live-action feature film, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, Alvin, Theodore, and Simon are now in the care of Dave’s nephew, Toby, played by Zachary Levy. They leave their rockstar roots behind for a more normal life and start attending school, though they can’t be kept off the stage for long.

The Chipmunks enter a battle of the bands contest to help save their school’s music program where they meet their rivals: The Chipettes. The trio is comprised of Eleanor, Jeannette, and Brittany, voiced by Christina Applegate. The Squeakquel was widely panned but managed to dominate the box office during its theatrical run.

Bad Moms is about a group of mothers who are overworked, stressed out, completely, totally, and utterly exhausted. These three moms - played by Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn  - team up to de-stress and forget about all of their day-to-day duties and responsibilities.

The number one task on their new-found freedom’s to-do list is to take down Gwendolyn and all of her seemingly perfect mom-friends. Gwendolyn is played by Christina Applegate, who channels the perfect uptight in a hilarious way. The raunchy comedy was a hit, although it led to a subpar sequel in A Bad Moms Christmas, which many considered to be a blatant holiday-themed cash grab.

Married... with Children (1987-1997) - 8.0

13 New Character Additions That Hurt Iconic Sitcoms (And 12 That Saved Them)

This late 80’s and 90’s sitcom centers around a family living in Chicago, The Bundy’s. The family comprises of: Ted Bundy (Ed O’Neill) is a sexist salesman, his wife Peggy (Kate Segal) who is the exact opposite of a quintessential housewife, and their two kids Bud (David Faustino) and Kelly (Christina Applegate), who are not exactly what every parent dreams of raising.

The foundation of this show is this family’s communication, or lack thereof and the hilariousness of all the jabs they take at one another. While it may not exactly be the most beloved sitcom of its time, Married... with Children still lasted an impressive 11 seasons with a total of 259 episodes to its name.

Dead To Me (2019- ) - 8.1

Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini in Dead to Me

Dead to Me is a dark comedy, released by Netflix in 2019, about two women - Jen, played by Christina Applegate, and Judy, played by Linda Cardellini - who surprisingly form a very strong friendship after they meet in a grief group. Both attended said support group because they’ve both just suffered traumatic losses.

Specifically, Jen’s husband was recently killed in a hit and run accident while Judy has miscarried a child. It’s soon revealed that that isn’t the only reason Judy has sought a friendship with Jen and she is actually carrying quite a few secrets. Dead to Me garnered praise and will return in a second season that's currently in production.

Friends (1994-2004) - 8.9

It's safe to say that Friends is one of the best sitcoms to have ever been produced for television. Over ten seasons, we got to know our favorite group of six unforgettable friends and all of the important people in their individual lives.

In a couple of episodes, we meet Rachel Green's (Jennifer Anniston) sister, Amy Green (Christina Applegate). Amy is a bit self-centered, to say the least, and has trouble remembering important facts about her sister’s life such as new baby’s name, or anyone’s name for that matter. Still, Amy was a welcome presence in the sitcom and it wouldn't be complete without her.
