That '90s Show will return to Netflix for season 2. The series is a sequel to the hit sitcom That '70s Show, which ran for 8 seasons on Fox between 1998 and 2006. That '90s Show follows Leia Forman (Callie Haverda), the daughter of Eric (Topher Grace) and Donna (Laura Prepon) from the original series, as she visits her grandparents (Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith, likewise reprising their roles) for the summer in 1995.

Today, Netflix took to Twitter to announce that That '90s Show would be returning for season 2.

This news comes just two weeks after the show premiered on January 19. That '90s Show season 1 has already done well for the streaming platform, premiering at No. 5 on their weekly chart of the most-streamed English-language series and climbing to No. 4 the following week. It has also been revealed that That 90s Show season 2 will have 16 episodes, 6 more than the first season.

That '90s Show season 1 ended with Leia preparing to return home for the beginning of the school year, leaving behind a rift with her friends. They have all sided with her now ex-boyfriend Jay (Mace Coronel) because she's leaving town, so if season 2 picks up the next summer the group will have to repair some bridges in order for things to go back to normal. The show has also set up an intriguing romantic storyline between Fez and single mother Sherri Runck (Andrea Anders) that could deepen as the series progresses.
