Kitty and Red actors share That '90s Show behind-the-scenes photos as production officially begins. Released in 1998, That ‘70s Show aired on Fox for eight successful seasons. Focusing on the lives of an eclectic group of teenage friends and their misadventures, tribulations, and relationships, That '70s Show helped to launch the careers of many of its cast members. The hit sitcom was one of Fox's flagship shows before the series officially signed off in 2006, and the series finale featured its characters ringing in a new decade.

Set in the suburbs of Point Place, Wisconsin, That 70's Show centers on Eric Forman (Topher Grace), who lives with his parents Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp) and Red (Kurtwood Smith), and his relationship with his neighbor and love interest, Donna (Laura Prepon). That '70s Show also starred Danny Masterson as Hyde, Mila Kunis as Jackie, Ashton Kutcher as Kelso, and Wilmer Valderrama as Fez. Last year, Netflix announced that That '70s Show would be getting a sequel series, titled That '90s Show. Featuring the return of Rupp and Smith as Kitty and Red Foreman, That '90s Show will follow the daughter of Eric and Donna, Leia Forman (Callie Haverda), who spends the summer in Point Place with her grandparents.

Rupp and Smith took to social media to share behind-the-scenes photos as That '90 Show officially begins production. Meanwhile, Smith took to Instagram to share a photo of the pilot script for That '90s Show in a director's chair and wrote the caption, "...what’s that in my old 70’s Show chair?" Helmed by showrunner Gregg Mattler, That '90s Show could leave the door open for numerous original cast members to return while diving into the misadventures of the new basement group. Recently, Netflix unveiled its cast of Point Place teenagers that will join Rupp and Smith. At this time, it has yet to be revealed if anyone besides Leia is related to original characters from That '70s Show. Set in 1995, That '90s Show can offer the familiarity of cantankerous Red and peacemaker Kitty while showing a different side to the duo as they tackle a new era in their lives as grandparents.

That '90s Show can use Kitty and Red to provide insight on what Eric, Donna, Hyde, and the others have been up to since That '70s Show signed off, even if they don't make an appearance. Slated for 10 episodes, the new period sitcom appears to be off to a great start, and perhaps Rupp and Smith will continue to dole out nuggets of information on the highly-anticipated spinoff. Fans of That '70s Show, as well as a new generation of viewers, can look forward to the familiar faces of Red and Kitty while reliving the pop culture, fashion, and influences of 1995 in That '90s Show.
