WARNING: This post contains SPOILERS for Avengers: Infinity War.
A new magazine spoof crowns Avengers: Infinity War's Thanos as the Sexiest Man Alive. After years of build-up, MCU's biggest and baddest villain has finally officially debuted in the franchise as he actively sought out all six Infinity Stones. In the end, the Mad Titan fulfilled his life-long goal of cleansing the universe despite a gallant effort from Earth's Mightiest Heroes and their newfound allies.
Not really known for their villains, the MCU has finally found one of, if not their best, bad guy in the last 10 years, thanks to Joe and Anthony Russos' Infinity War. It was definitely risky to center their culminating movie around an antagonist whom fans have barely spent any time with over the course of 18 films. But between a solid motivation (that doesn't justify the mass murder he just committed) and Josh Brolin's brilliant portrayal, somehow, the movie pulled off a great job in translating Thanos on the big screen. But aside from his fascinating characterization, people are also apparently captured by the character's aesthetic earning him a surprising honor from fans.
BREAKING: People Magazine has announced 'AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR' star Thanos as 2018's SEXIEST MAN ALIVE! pic.twitter.com/wMZ1edJON6— Le Cinéphiles (@LeCinephiles) May 4, 2018
Courtesy of Le Cinéphiles' official Twitter account is a parody of PEOPLE magazine's iconic annual Sexiest Man Alive issue with Thanos, grinning from ear-to-ear and sporting what looks like a muscle tee, taking the accolade this year. The spoof had people laughing at the gag as they come up with their own ideas as to how the Mad Titan won the award, with one fan suggesting that due to the obliteration of half the population in the universe, the villain snuffed all his competition resulting to him being crowned as the winner. Check it out above.
For fans who still can't get enough of Thanos despite the chaos he ensued in the latest Marvel offering, the Mad Titan is still on schedule to return next year in Avengers 4. It's currently unclear why and how considering that he's basically fulfilled his life's calling and was seemingly content with his handiwork by the end of Infinity War, but chances are that it'll have something to do with the heroes trying to track him and the stones down - if he still has that complete, albeit toasted, gauntlet.
However, for people who don't have a problem equating Thanos with Josh Brolin considering the impressive CGI work on the actor, people can catch him a lot less purple and bulky in Deadpool 2 alongside Ryan Reynolds in less than two weeks. The veteran actor is doing double comic book movie duty also playing the Nathan Summers aka. Cable in the Merc With A Mouth's forthcoming sequel. After that, fans can also catch him in a more grounded premise in Sicario: Day of the Soldado later in the summer where he reunites on the big screen with Benicio Del Toro after they previously appeared in Avengers: Infinity War as the Mad Titan and Taneleer Tivan/The Collector respectively.
