Warning! Spoilers potential spoilers for Eternals below

Marvel's most terrifying supervillain, Thanosmight not even be the worst person in his own family. The Mad Titan has recently killed numerous Eternals, as he's fought against the ancient race that's outcast him from their ranks. Marvel Comics writer Kieron Gillen revealed in a future issue of the Eternals, Marvel will reveal Thanos isn't the only messed up person in his family.

Thanos has a complicated history with his birth parents and brother. After his mother Sui-San saw he was born with the Deviant gene, she tried to kill him as a baby. Thanos wouldn't forget the moment, as he killed her after fully embracing his more sinister side. Meanwhile, his father, Mentor, gave Drax the Destroyer powers in an attempt to kill Thanos. While neither of his parents cared for him, his brother Eros, better known as Starfox, has battled Thanos across space and time, as the pair have an understandably contentious relationship.

In an interview with AIPT, current Eternals writer Kieron Gillen talked about the series and what's to come next. Following the revelation about the true cost of being Eternal, the cosmic heroes will fight to save their memories from being wiped to avoid continuing to unknowingly cause death each time they are resurrected. Gillen discussed what's next for Thanos now that he's free from Phastos control. When asked what was something about his take on the villain that people didn't know, Gillen responded with, "He’s arguably not even the worst person in his family. That’s a fun issue, when we get to it."

That's quite the statement. In terms of direct family, readers have only met Starfox before. Is it possible Gillen will introduce a new, secret sibling for Thanos? Are his parents back? Or how about one of his children? Has Starfox gone off the deep end and somehow become worse than the Mad Titan? Considering how many Eternals there are and Thanos' past, it's hard to pinpoint who Gillen refers to. But, still, it's an incredible tease for what's to come next.

Revealing new wrinkles to Thanos' past is always interesting as readers always want to learn more about what turned the villain mad. The fact he might not be the worst member of his family would be a shocking twist and one that could explain the Mad Titan's actions even further. While Eternals is on a break until November, the first six issues featuring Thanos by Gillen, Esad Ribic, and Matthew Wilson are available now.
