While all Tesla owners will already be familiar with how to open the charge port, it was recently discovered that a very specific voice command can also be given to unlock it as well. Tesla vehicles come with a number of features and Easter eggs that are not always so obvious, but this one seems extremely unlikely to be something the average Tesla drive would accidentally stumble upon.

Tesla continues to be popular options for those in the market for a new electric vehicle. While they are not the cheapest, there have been a number of reports lately suggesting a more affordable model will arrive at some point, opening the Tesla door to even more consumers. Regardless of the model chosen, one constant is the user experience, with all of the company’s Model vehicles running on the same Tesla operating system. In some cases, that can result in the same issues cropping up, but it also means the same benefits, perks, and Easter eggs as well.

Depending on the model, there is more than one way to open the charge port. However, one Tesla owner discovered and explained (in a recent Tweet) a way to open the charge port door using an unusual voice command. Essentially, if the driver says “open butthole” the charge port will automatically open, forgoing the need to manually open the covering or use the more traditional "open charge port" command. Likewise, saying “close butthole” appears to be enough to close the charge port when finished. It remains to be seen when exactly Tesla added support for the unorthodox voice command, but many users have since confirmed it to be working.

A Surprising, But Not Surprising Tesla Feature

Temperature Control Tesla

While the voice command seems unlikely to be one that many Tesla owners will find easily, it is also not a surprising one. After all, Tesla vehicles also do come with a ‘fart mode’ that can be accessed and enabled through the 'Emissions Testing Mode' option in the Tesla Toy Box. It is worth noting that some users are also reporting that other variations of the word work as well, making it unclear of just how many there are.

While these are funny additions to the Tesla experience, they are not the sum of it. The company has built its name on advanced features and technology solutions, such as its Full Self-Driving functionality, and they are what really provide buyers with the extra added value. Still, it is hard to argue that some of these Easter eggs and features also don’t add value to the overall Tesla experience.
