The Tesla Cybertruck is one beast of a truck for multiple reasons. In addition to its ultra futuristic design that looks like nothing else on the market, Tesla has also equipped it with some of the best towing capacity around.

Announced in 2019, the Cybertruck is one of the most ambitious vehicles from Tesla to date. It's the first-ever truck from Tesla, the exoskeleton design is wholly original compared to anything else, and it has the power to back up its outrageous design. Touting up to 500+ miles of range, a 0-60mph speed of 2.9 seconds for the tri motor model, and all of the self-driving smarts Tesla is known for, it's safe to say the Cybertruck packs an interesting punch.

With any truck, electric or gas, one of the most important specs to consider is its towing capacity. Whether someone is hauling lumber, a camper, a boat, or anything else in between, having adequate towing capacity is a must. Thankfully, this is an area where Tesla delivers with Cybertruck. For the $39,900 Single Motor RWD model, Tesla advertises over 7,500 lbs of towing capacity. That should be more than enough for 'normal' use, but for folks that plan on hauling a lot of heavy equipment, Tesla also has them covered.

Dual Motor & Tri Motor Have Greater Capacities

Going a step up is the $49,900 Dual Motor AWD configuration of the Cybertruck. It's a dual motor design with all-wheel drive (as the name implies), and for its towing capacity, it goes up to 10,000+ lbs. That's substantially more leeway for heavy loads, not to mention the addition of all-wheel drive resulting in easier handling in rough conditions. This also increases the range and acceleration of the Cybertruck. Where the Single Motor RWD model offers 250+ miles of range and a 0-60 time of around 6.5 seconds, the Dual Motor AWD version improves those to 300+ miles and 4.5 seconds, respectively.

If 10,000 pounds of capacity still isn't enough, there's always the Tri Motor AWD option. It's the most expensive of the bunch at $69,900, but it's also the most impressive. Towing capacity goes all the way up to 14,000+ lbs, which is among the best of any consumer truck on the market. The Ford F-150 Lightning, for example, has a max towing capacity of around 10,000 pounds. That's still very good, but Tesla clearly has the upper hand. And there are other perks that come with the Tri Moto AWD model. Total range goes all the way up to 500+ miles, and for drivers that want to go really fast, the 0-60 time is about 2.9 seconds. That may be overkill for some folks, but it's great the option is there for drivers that can take advantage of all that power.
