Tesla is rolling out a new software update with several notable features, including cloud-based driver profiles. Like most modern electric cars, Tesla vehicles also receive periodic software updates that bring new features and bug fixes to improve the user experience. Users can check for available updates by opening the Software tab on the touchscreen display. If one is available, it can either be installed right away or scheduled to be downloaded and installed later. As a safety measure, the car cannot be driven during software installation.

Tesla is one of the most popular EV brands globally, with businesses in several countries worldwide. The company's products sit at the premium end of the market, meaning they are priced higher than competing products in each segment. Despite that, Tesla often struggles to meet demand. Until recently, the company was the largest EV manufacturer globally, selling more than 936,000 cars last year. However, Tesla lost its pole position to Chinese auto major BYD earlier this year, when the latter surpassed it to become the world's largest EV-maker.

The latest software update from Tesla is version 2022.24.5, which comes with many new features. There are also a few previously-released features that are only now being rolled out more widely. One of the most notable new features is Tesla Profiles which brings cloud-based driver profiles that Elon Musk had announced earlier. The feature helps drivers sync their settings across multiple vehicles and is especially useful for people who own multiple Teslas or while renting a Tesla vehicle.

According to Tesla's release notes, some of the settings that will be synced across multiple vehicles include mirror, seating and steering wheel adjustments, as well as Autopilot, driving and climate control preferences. Navigation, media and data sharing settings can also be synced following the new update. In addition, the Tesla Profile can be set up from the car's Driver Profile settings.

Another important new feature is the ability to adjust the placement of the blind spot camera on the display. To do that, drivers must drag the camera feed to a location of their choice. The release notes say, "The camera feed will appear in the same position when your blinker is active." Users with premium connectivity will also see a minor change in the map, whereby slower traffic conditions along the current navigation route will now be shown more prominently as part of the route line.

The incoming update will also let Tesla owners disable the sounds made by Sentry Mode to prevent disturbing neighbors. Other new features include the ability to free up internal storage space by uninstalling games from the Tesla Arcade and listing the recommended cold tire pressure for the car. The new update for Tesla vehicles will also move the turn signal placement above the regenerative braking line on the main display.
