The final update for Terraria is now available for players on PC, with developer Re-Logic confirming that it does not intend to release any further content for the game in the future. Terraria has gone through constant iteration since it launched in 2011 and Relogic has added dozens of free content updates over the last nine years.

Terraria received what was supposed to be its final update earlier this year. Introduced in May, Journey's End brought with it a wide range of new features and additional content. Chief among them was the new Journey Mode. This game mode allows players to spawn any item they have previously researched and makes the base game easier to play. It launched alongside the tModLoader on Steam, which allowed players to directly integrate fan-made content into the main game. However, this tool still required some work to function properly with the latest updates to the game.

Developer Re-Logic has released the final update for Terraria following almost 10 years of development for the title. Know as Journey's Actual End, the latest update introduces a new NPC that acts as the final character players will meet. The update also includes several new achievements and a wide array of bug fixes. Re-Logic has also made some more balance changes and added extra vanity armor. Finally, there are now full credits for the game included in the menu. Journey's Actual End is available right now on PC and will come to mobile and consoles in the near future, although there is no set date right now.

Along with content updates and major expansions, Terraria has also been modded widely by the community. In fact, there are now thousands of mods available on Steam. They add everything from extra characters and items to significant gameplay changes that switch around the core mechanics of the game. Some mods, like N Terraria, even turn the base title into a fully functioning RPG. Now that Re-Logic officially supports mods through the tModLoader, modders have created even more content for players to try out.

Seeing yet another update to Terraria is a bit of a surprise, as Re-Logic has previously stated that it would not be adding any further content to the game. Journey's End was meant to be the final update for the title and act as a conclusion to the game. But now that the developer has released another expansion, it's hard to say for definite that this will be the final release for Terraria.
