Re-Logic co-founder and one of the creators behind Terraria has confirmed that the action-adventure sandbox game will no longer come to google Stadia following a disagreement between the platform and Andrew Spinks. The game, which is available on practically every single platform, first released in 2011 and has a strong community of players who regularly release mods and content updates for the title. This has ensured that Terraria remains popular almost a decade after it launched.

In October last year, Re-Logic released The Journey's Actual End on PC, a final official update for Terraria. It included several new achievements, a final NPC to interact with, and a number of gameplay changes and additions. It also made it easier for fans to use the tModLoader, a tool made available with the previous update that was supposed to act as the title's final release. This tool allows players to directly integrate fan-made content into the main game.

Terraria will not be coming to Google Stadia, with Andrew Spinks confirming in a series of Tweets that he is cancelling the port. The move comes after a public spat between the game's co-creator and Google, who has inexplicably banned his accounts on its various services. This includes his Gmail, Google Play Store, and YouTube, which Spinks says is damaging to his personal and professional life. The developer maintains he has done nothing to violate the Google terms of service and that the company has done nothing to help him understand why Re-Logic has lost access to all Google services over the last three weeks. Spinks also announced that he "will no longer support any of your platforms moving forward."

This public controversy with Google Stadia is just the latest in a series of negative stories about the streaming platform. Last week, it emerged that Google has closed both of its internal development studios. The company will now focus solely on third-party games for Stadia rather than creating its own library of releases. Since launching in 2019, Stadia has failed to make much of an impact in the gaming industry and has not been able to properly compete with the likes of Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony, or Steam.

Considering how Terraria is available on pretty much every platform other than Stadia, its absence will not notable. It also doesn't bode well for Stadia that Google has seemingly had a very public falling out with such a popular developer. This may put other studios off from working with Google in the future and cause players to think twice about using the service — two consequences that Stadia can ill afford with its limited success thus far.
