Terminator: Resistance is a first-person shooter that takes place during the aftermath of Judgement Day and it has several endings for players to experience. Players take control of a lone resistance soldier named Jacob Rivers as he traverses the remnants of 1997 Los Angeles to defeat Skynet. Along the way, there are NPCs that will be encountered that can change the course of the game's ending, and this guide will show how to unlock the good ending.

Developed by Teyon, Terminator: Resistance was released on November 15, 2019, as an addendum to the first two classic movies. Fighting alongside John Connors, Jacob Rivers is the only survivor that's left after an infiltrator attacked his unit in Pasadena. After narrowly escaping his fate, Rivers joins up with a tech-com unit lead by Jessica Baron to go on various missions in Terminator: Resistance that focus on breaking down the weakest links of Skynet. Meanwhile, the infiltrator unit that killed Rivers' team is still on the prowl. Players will have to take Rivers on a brutal journey as he has to find a way to defeat the ruling cybernetic threats that's trying to snuff out humanity through 9 chapters. There is an assortment of; hunter-killers, drones, turret guns, T-800 models and even traps to overcome. Players will be bombarded by these enemies and the firefights can become hot and heavy. This story takes place between 2028-2029 and as events unfold players will encounter other characters to make decisions through branching dialogue during the heat of battle.

There is a variety of classic and futuristic weaponry at the player's disposal in this dystopian future. Through an upgrading menu, players can enhance their skills by; powering up guns, increasing XP, unlocking doors, and increasing inventory space. These are only some of the traits in Terminator: Resistance that players can freely use at their discretion. Thus, there are various 'chips' that can be found and utilized for the plasma rifles as modifications to increase their; firing rate, damage, etc. Crafting is something else that can be done in Terminator: Resistance in which players can make; consumables, lockpicks, ammo types, and even Kyle Reese's classic pipe bombs. There are even possible tactics to go in stealthy and sabotage turret guns to turn against other T-800 models. This too can be upgraded to increase the chances of successful stealth kills and hacking mini-games. During the war of the machines, Jacob Rivers will need to make crushing decisions that will, in fact, determine the outcome of important NPCs lives throughout the game's missions. Therefore, there is indeed multiple endings to this game and the most difficult among them is getting the "good ending" that reflects on hope for humanity and all the characters surviving.

Unlocking The Good Ending in Terminator: Resistance

When it comes to unlocking the different endings in Terminator: Resistance, players will be walking a tight rope of carefully making the right decisions and determining all the outcomes. Basically, the endings can teeter from one extreme to the next. Either all the characters die, or they all survive. It can very difficult to determine which decision to make while conversing with all the NPCs and trying to figure out the best choices possible. It's not really that obvious and it's pretty much a roll of the dice to see what happens. In some cases, players will need to go through multiple playthroughs until they finally figure out how to get the good ending. So, to avoid wasting time, the following is a step-by-step process that will carve a path to this game's best ending.

Steps To Getting The Good Ending:

  • Early in the game, Ryan will want a tape recorder. So, be sure to find him one.
  • Dr. Mack will give players an option to go on a mission to find a chip. Be sure to do it.
  • A conversation with Erin will entail on her trying to figure out what happened to her husband. Tell her that he went to Mexico.
  • Let Baron kick Ryan out by not helping him.
  • Give Dr. Mack the chip after stealing it.
  • Tell Jennifer and her brother to "leave the bunker" during the last conversation with her.

Since this game has about 20 side missions and activities in Terminator: Resistance, fulfilling all the aforementioned requirements can be done by playing through most of them. So, be sure to take some time and see what side missions are available so an opportunity won't be lost. Of course, there are a couple of situations that are stitched into the main campaign, and can't be avoided. Just pay attention and look for cues on what needs to be done in accordance to the list above. If players check all the boxes and complete all the requirements then the good ending will kick off at the end of the game. All the characters will survive and have a new beginning after the war.
