The Terminator first premiered in 1984 and quickly became a worldwide hit. It also made Arnold Schwarzenegger who played the T-800 into a big star. Fast forward 36 years, and despite a few setbacks in the form of not so well-accepted films, the Terminator franchise is still going strong and is beloved by thousands, if not millions of people.

Fans like to do cosplays of the various characters of the series since it gives them an opportunity to get into their minds of their favorite heroes. You can check out some of the many great cosplays here, and not just the one of the Terminator himself.

Looking Tough

Even if a cosplayer doesn't bear a strong physical resemblance to Arnold Schwarzenegger (and, to be honest, who does?), he can still pull off cosplaying the Terminator since the overall expression and attitude is just as important as physical resemblance, or even more. Achieving the proper, emotionless expression is no easy task but the cosplayer Lonstermash managed to do it just fine.

He also deserves bonus points for the number of details included in the cosplay, like the Terminator's eye, for example, and also the styling of his hair which closely resembles Schwarzenegger's in the film. The only weak spot is the gun which looks very fake, but then again, he could hardly be carrying around a real one.

Deadly Duo

Destroying deadly Terminators can be a lot of fun even if one does it on his own, but having a partner who has your back and is there for you is even better.

In the second film, the T-800, now tasked to protect young John Connor from the Terminator sent back in time to kill him, joined forces with Linda Hamilton's Sarah Connor, and these two fought the hardest they could to protect John and stop the Judgement Day from ever happening. The duo looks badass in this cosplay by heliboy999 and they would no doubt work well together as a fighting team.

Dangerous Trio

The latest Terminator film, Terminator: Dark Fate, may not have been as successful as its creators might have hoped, but it still featured a lot of great scenes and memorable characters. And cosplayers still found their way to the film, as proved by this cosplay by Nichola Fynn.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's Terminator still played a part in the film but the largest portion of the work was done by the three dangerous ladies - Dani, Grace, and, of course, Sarah Connor, who spent the last twenty or so years bringing down Terminators who came back into the past. These three look like a trio that knows what it's doing.

The Terminators Meeting

This photo answers the question many fans have been asking for years: What do the Terminators do when they're not walking/running/driving around and saving people or killing them? The answer is now obvious - they're taking photos together. In this photo with the cosplayer Paul Hoyos, two Terminators from alternate futures finally met.

One of them was the Rev-9 from the film Terminator: Dark Fate and the other was probably needs no further introduction. Of course, one shouldn't also forget Sarah Connor, who joined the two deadly machines for a friendly chat, judging by the smiles on all of their faces.

Never Stopping

As Kyle Reese told Sarah Connor in the first Terminator film, one of the biggest advantages of the Terminators is that they don't get tired. They don't need to sleep, don't have to eat or drink, and they never, ever stop going after their target until they finally eliminate... pardon, terminate him.

It's been proved once again in the second Terminator film where Robert Patrick played the Terminator who went after young John Connor, and it took combined forces of the T-800, Sarah, and John to stop him. johnnypen_cosplay obviously enjoyed the second film since he did this great cosplay of the film's main antagonist.

You Shall Be Terminated

This photo was captioned: Sarah Connor. You shall be terminated. And it's an accurate description, considering the situation Sarah found herself in. But, on the other hand, Sarah has proven her resilience, strong will to live and a cunningness many times before, so she'd most likely find a way how to get out of this one as well, either on her own or with help from her friends and allies.

This cosplay by realsamapcosplay deserves a spot on this list not only because of its similarity to the film but also because of the attention paid to even the smallest details, from the characters' hairstyles to the environment where the scene is taking place.

Many Faces, One Terminator

Many fans consider the second Terminator film to be the best part of the whole series, and that's also partially thanks to Robert Patrick and his portrayal of the T-1000, the Terminator who wants to terminate John Connor before he can grow up and become the leader of the resistance.

The T-1000 has the useful ability to change forms, and he can take on the form of any human, as long as he touches the person before (which usually means he kills them). In one scene, the T-800 fires at him repeatedly, but he heals anyway and goes on, just like in this cosplay by heylookitsthatguycosplay.

Come With Us If You Want To Live

The general rule in the Terminator series is this: one Terminator is good enough, but more Terminators programmed to protect you are even better. In this cosplay posted by BearPhotography, one has the accumulated power of the younger T-800, the older T-800, and Sarah Connor at his disposal, and there's a lot a person could do with such a protection squad.

The similarity between the younger and older version of the T-800 is high enough and if that wasn't good enough, they also got the Terminator's emotionless expression spot on, especially the younger version. With this trio, one would have to fear nobody and nothing.

Future Leader Of Humanity

Until the film Terminator: Dark Fate came along, it was John Connor and not Dani Ramos who was destined to lead the resistance against the Terminators and provide hope and strength to humanity when it seemed like there was no hope left and all people would perish.

But before John became the leader, he was just a young rebellious boy who was growing up with a foster family and didn't believe his mom her Terminator stories. He's one of the most important heroes in the Terminator franchise, and as such, he deserves a spot on this list. Plus, the cosplayer kurosaki.cosplay did a wonderful job.

The Real Hero

The T-800 didn't have it easy in the franchise but the biggest badass and hero of the Terminator saga is none other than Sarah Connor.

She started out as an innocent young waitress but when Kyle Reese came into her life and then left it almost as abruptly, she had to learn how to fight for herself and her son, how to survive and deal with anger, fear and the heartbreak of losing the man she loved. Linda Hamilton's Sarah was and remains an inspiration for many women, and joanie_mars looks very much like the iconic heroine in this photo.
