When will the first Terminator 6 trailer release? Currently operating under the working title of Terminator: Dark Fate, this year's Terminator 6 is meant to continue the story that left off with James Cameron's Terminator 2: Judgment Day way back in 1991. Following the new trend popularized by Blumhouse's Halloween sequel last year, Terminator 6 is ignoring everything - every sequel, prequel, and reboot - that came after Terminator 2 hit theaters almost 30 years ago.

In order to shepherd the new sequel through, Cameron returned to oversee a writer's room for Terminator 6 along with the movie's director, Tim Miller, who's perhaps most well known for helming the first Deadpool movie. What came out of that writer's room is a story that will potentially set up a new Terminator trilogy beginning with Terminator 6 (as in the sixth installment in the Terminator franchise, not with regards to its story). And Terminator 6 kicks off that new narrative when it releases in theaters this November - but when can audiences expect the first Terminator 6 trailer to arrive?

While Paramount Pictures has been tight-lipped about Terminator 6 so far, the first Terminator 6 trailer should presumably release in either late April or early May. Since Terminator 6 hits theaters in early November, releasing the first Terminator 6 trailer about five-to-six months in advance would be par for the course for the studio, as well as for a blockbuster film. Given that Paramount will have a presence at CinemaCon 2019, it's possible they'll debut the first Terminator 6 trailer there and then release it online a few days or weeks later.

However, it's certainly possible that Paramount will choose to withhold the Terminator 6 trailer until closer to summer (and, ultimately, Comic-Con 2019). Last year, the studio debuted the first footage for Bumblebee and Overlord, but the first trailers for both movies didn't release online until early June and mid-July, respectively. In this case, Bumblebee is the best comparison, seeing as it was Paramount's big blockbuster release for the holiday season. Since Bumblebee's first trailer debuted online a little over six months ahead of its release date, that would mean May is the perfect time for Terminator 6, as its also six months ahead of its release.

The first Terminator 6 trailer could very well debut at CinemaCon in early April and then appear online later that month, in order for it to be played ahead of the season's biggest blockbuster movies, like Avengers: Endgame, for instance. Regardless, it shouldn't be too much longer until the marketing campaign for Terminator 6 launches, which will include the first real photos as well as the first trailer.
