Chris Pratt’s new show for Amazon Prime Video The Terminal List has been given a release date of July 1. Based on the novel of the same name by former Navy SEAL Jack Carr, the show will also star Taylor Kitsch, Constance Wu, Riley Keough, and Jeanne Tripplehorn. It will follow James Reece (Pratt) who, after his unit is ambushed while on a covert mission, returns home and begins to question his culpability. However, after new evidence surfaces, Reece discovers that dark forces are threatening him and his family.

The series has been in development since April 2020, with Pratt executive producing and reuniting with Magnificent Seven director Antoine Fuqua, who directed the pilot. In May of the same year, it was picked up by Amazon Prime Video and principal photography then began in March 2021. This will be another collaboration between Pratt and the streamer, building off the success of their previous effort The Tomorrow War, which drew in a record viewership of 2.41 million households in its first three days, a record for the streaming service.

The Terminal List Chris Pratt Full

This is sure to be a winning combination for the streamer. Pratt has proven that he is box office gold, as the latest Jurassic World films have all performed incredibly well in theaters and his turn as Star-Lord in the MCU remains a perennial fan favorite. His films have grossed over $11 billion in total across domestic and international markets, making him one of the most profitable stars of recent years. The Tomorrow War even took the number 2 spot in the Chinese market upon its release, despite it going straight-to-streamer in other territories. Similarly, the genre of political action thrillers seems to be working for Amazon. Jack Ryan, an adaptation of the Tom Clancy "Ryanverse," continues to draw massive viewership numbers with its second season, averaging a total of 4.6 million in the first week.

The Terminal List should prove to be a hit for Amazon, giving them another feather in their cap as the battle of the streamers continues to dominate our home entertainment. This is regardless of the unfavorable critical reception that both The Tomorrow War and the second season of Jack Ryan have received because with budgets and viewership such as these, who needs good reviews?
