While it's arguably one of the most popular films of the genre, but there are plenty of other films that fans of 10 Things I Hate About you would love, from cult classics like Mean Girls and The Breakfast Club to romantic comedies like Never Been Kissed.

Mean Girls

Mean Girls

Mean Girls is an absolute classic and is arguably one of the funniest teen movies ever. It tells the story of a home-schooled girl, Cady Heron, who spent most of her childhood in Africa. She has to navigate high school in America with absolutely no knowledge of what it’s like and meets The Plastics. Mean Girls is a must-watch if you’re a fan of 10 Things I Hate About You for the way it observes society, something that 10 Things I Hate About You's Kat would be very proud of.

Clueless

Another classic movie is Clueless, which is a modern take on Jane Austen’s Emma. In the movie, we follow Cher, a young rich girl who deals with the trials and tribulations of popularity, boys, and having a crush on her step-brother. Whether it's going shopping or saying lines that will forever remain iconic, Cher is a brilliant character, and Clueless is a joyful movie to watch and quote along with.

A Cinderella Story

A Cinderella Story is one of many modern takes on the fairytale, with this one starring Hilary Duff and Chad Micheal Murray. The plot is pretty simple; Sam and Austin are penpals without knowing that they go to school together and don't like each other in real life. On top of that, Sam is treated pretty terribly by her stepmother and step-sisters. There have since been several other Cinderella Story movies but this one is the original and definitely remains the best of them all.

Never Been Kissed

Never Been Kissed is a romantic comedy starring Drew Barrymore, who plays a journalist who goes undercover at a high school. She was wildly unpopular in high school, and this time around, she starts to crush on the teacher.

500 Days Of Summer

500 Days Of Summer stars 10 Things I Hate About You cast member Joseph Gordon Levitt and is about the breaking down of a relationship. It's really sweet and quite unique for the genre. The main character Tom is a romantic who believed that he would spend the rest of his life with Summer, a girl who doesn't believe in love.

Easy A

Olive strutting through school

Easy A is a hilarious comedy about a girl called Olive, played by Emma Stone, who lies to her best friend about losing her virginity. The lie starts a flurry of rumors about her that she ends up taking in her stride despite the fact she definitely hasn't lost her virginity. It has a lot of shocking moments that also turn out to be its funniest and is definitely worth watching.

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower

The Perks of Being A Wallflower is hard to compare to 10 Things I Hate About You, mainly because it's pretty dark and a lot more serious. It focuses more on the struggles that teenagers go through surrounding mental health and not being able to fit in. It's a tough watch at times but it's definitely worth it for the great friendship that blossoms between Charlie, Sam, and Patrick.

Bring It On

Bring It On is a comedy/sports film about fierce competition between two cheerleading teams. It's still a pretty popular film and it focuses on an aspect of high school that not a lot of teen movies do.

The Breakfast Club, directed by John Hughes is an iconic '80s film. It's full of memorable lines and a great soundtrack and is perfect for anybody looking for a contemplative movie about teens figuring themselves out.

Pretty In Pink

Another John Hughes classic, Pretty In Pink stars Molly Ringwald as Andie, a girl who is most certainly not popular, yet one of the most popular guys at school likes her. It's one of John Hughes' best films, and he's an expert at encapsulating teen struggles in Pretty In Pink.
