Considering The Hunger Games film series was a Lionsgate property, it's probably unlikely that the studio would ever feel the need to cross over with the distributor for and television channel of low-budget, made-for-the-small-screen films. Yet, that should hardly stop anyone from considering what it would be like if Hallmark characters were thrust into one of the many bloodthirsty districts of Panem.

From Christmas movies to fairy tale retellings to novel adaptations, the Hallmark Channel has tons of characters who would just get throttled by the Katniss Everdeens of the world. Some, however, might just be able to hold their own.

Christmas Wonderland: Chris

2018's Christmas Wonderland is a classic red-and-green Hallmark affair that revolves around high school sweethearts. The male lead of the film, Ryan Rottman's Chris, could be more than just a hometown teacher, though.

With his social wit and academic prowess, he could be a district champion in the Hunger Games. He doesn't rank as highly because he's a bit lacking when it comes to physicality, but his smarts would enable him to survive.

A Princess For Christmas: Jules

Anyone who belongs to royalty or a monarchy would just be slaughtered in the Hunger Games. But those who view those institutions from an outsider's perspective? They would be uniquely qualified for the games.

Jules, played by Katie McGrath, has determination and a quick, outside-the-box way of thinking. Both would carry her far in the games, and it's also easy to see the lead of A Princess for Christmas as someone who could become a symbol of hope.

Animal Farm (1999): Mollie

The 1999 adaptation of Animal Farm is pretty accurate when compared to its Orwellian source material. Thanks to the Hallmark pedigree distributing the film, the allegorical animals could stand a chance in the games, too.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Mollie has that youthful spark that would be so vital for competing against some stalwarts in the competition. Anyone who can flee from or buck against tradition has been shown to fare well in the games.

One Royal Holiday: James

Back to the royal side of things, Aaron Tveit's James Galant is a prince among princes. It may seem unlikely, based on aforementioned comments, that James would hang with the other competitors. However, his arc in One Royal Holiday shows that he absolutely could.

In that film, he quickly learns how to make his way in an environment that is unfamiliar to him. Considering how he also gets in touch with his heart following One Royal Holiday's plot, James could bring Katniss levels of morality to the event, too.

Christmas Made To Order: Gretchen

Another classic Hallmark Christmas movie is Christmas Made to Order, from 2018. In this film, Alexa PenaVega's Gretchen is a coordinator and Jonathan Bennett's Steven is an architect.

It's not hard to imagine who would be the most successful in the Hunger Games, though. Architects are great, but their skills are not the most useful for the games. Good luck having the time to camp out anywhere except for under a pile of sticks or in a tent. However, push the coordinator into the mix and Gretchen will plan her ideal Hunger Games: one where she survives.

The Spirit Of Christmas: Daniel

This qualification could cause some ire from the commissioner of the Hunger Games. In The Spirit of Christmas, it seems perfectly reasonable to argue that Thomas Beaudoin's Daniel didn't even survive the film, so how could he survive the Hunger Games?

However, not everyone in the 2015 fantasy Hallmark film knew that Daniel was a spirit. Therefore, he could float and weave his way through the Hunger Games without the competition ever realizing that they never stood a chance against him.

Alice In Wonderland (1999): Mad Hatter

1999 was a big year for Hallmark producing adaptations of classic literature with expansive ensemble casts. In particular, the Hallmark-produced Alice in Wonderland possesses the same character who would fare well in the Hunger Games across every adaptation: Martin Short's The Mad Hatter.

Alice is too gullible and curious. Tweedledum is too laborious. But the Mad Hatter? His chaotic, carefree attitude would suit him well. It's hard to imagine someone who believes he has nothing to lose going down easily in Panem.

Remember Sunday: Molly

Mollie, the aforementioned mare, is not the only Molly on the list. 2013's Remember Sunday was also led by a Molly, played by Alexis Bledel. At first blush, Zachary Levi's Gus might seem like a stronger candidate for the Games, but Molly is the right pick.

Gus' short-term memory could be an asset, as he would shed emotionality from the games. However, he would also be confused over what his goal was at all. Molly, though, knows how to deal with someone she loves who forgets who she is. That's the necessary toughness one needs to survive.

Snow White: The Fairest Of Them All: The Wish Granter

The Wish Granter holds a mirror

Another fairy tale adaptation that wouldn't exist without Hallmark is 2001's Snow White: The Fairest of Them All. While it's definitely a much looser interpretation of the classic Snow White tale, one of the new characters would crush the Hunger Games.

The Wish Granter, played by Clancy Brown, is a mystical being who is potentially all-powerful. Throwing a glorified genie into the districts would just be unfair. It'd be like throwing LeBron James into a middle school basketball game.

Animal Farm (1999): Napoleon

Napoleon speaks out in a coat

Back to Animal Farm, there is one clear character who would do more than dominate the Hunger Games. Patrick Stewart's Napoleon would easily survive, and then he would overthrow the games and rebuild a society in its place.

At the start, that society would seem to be egalitarian and supportive of those who had been walked all over for years. Eventually, though, Napoleon would become what he hated. He wouldn't just survive, he'd start a whole new Hunger Games with his own rules.
