Temtem is a pleasant homage to the Pokemon series that brings in enough new content like being able to play online with friends on their adventure. It's a bit surreal to see a game that looks just like Pokemon (a series plagued with a history of being slow to adopt new ideas) have a successfully funded Kickstarter project the brings its players together in-game in realtime. This makes the game feel much more lived in. The game is still relatively new, releasing its early access on January 21, 2020, with developer promises of continuing to support the game long beyond its launch. As long as players continue to support it, Crema and Temtem can have a long life ahead of them.
