Telltale's The Walking Dead Final Season Trailer: Episode 3

A trailer for episode 3 of The Walking Dead: The Final Season has been released. Clementine's journey through the zombie apocalypse will be completed even after original developer, Telltale Games shutdown earlier this year prior to episode 2's release. The beloved game will be finished Skybound Games. It has been known for a while that the series would have a conclusive wrap, but now players can know when the end will begin.

Telltale's The Walking Dead first began back in 2012 and has been regarded as one of the better zombie projects in the gaming community - if not the best. The story of the games are shaped by players choices in interactive situations. The primary focus of the game is Clementine, a young girl who must navigate her way through a world she is initially unprepared to face. Over the course of the last three seasons, players have watched Clementine grow up, develop relationships, and make some heart breaking decisions. Now the time has come for Clementine's story to come to an end.

During the Kinda Funny Games Showcase, Skybound Games released the trailer for episode 3, "Broken Toys". This trailer reveals a release date set for mid January next year. "Broken Toys" will take place shortly after the previous episode and will likely show Clementine tracking down the raiders that invaded the school. The teaser also features a voice over from Clementine's original guardian from the season 1, Lee Everett, reflecting on how much she's overcome. You can watch the trailer, below:

Along with the trailer, Skybound Games issued the following sentiments to fans:

"We’re extremely thankful to the team working on this game to make sure the season is finished with the quality the game and the fans deserve. We are #stillnotbitten. You may have noticed that all past seasons and episodes of TELLTALE’S THE WALKING DEAD are back up on *almost* all platforms. If you purchased any of the games on PC, we are still getting that sorted and will have an update for you ahead of Broken Toys’ launch. If you already purchased the entire season of TELLTALE’S THE WALKING DEAD: THE FINAL SEASON, you will still have access to episodes three and four on whichever platform you already used to purchase them."

This season of The Walking Dead has reunited Clementine with AJ, the infant she had been searching for since the finale of A New Frontier. During the last episode, fans of the long-running series got to witness Clementine reunite with former ally, Lilly. Lilly hadn't been seen since the first season after the group abandoned her on the side of the road, or depending on player choices, she would have also traveled off with the group's RV. After being on the road for so many months, Clementine and AJ thought they had finally found a place to call home, but this is not the case at all and in order to finally have a place, Clementine will have to do what she does best... fight.

For fans of the series who thought the story would never be completed this is an early Christmas gift. The teaser is an emotional showcase of how far Clementine has come over the past six years. While "Broken Toys" isn't the final episode, it will certainly put players in the mood for the inevitable series finale that is approaching. One of the most beloved video games is indeed coming to an end, but for a short while it seemed that the story would be left unfinished. No one wants to say goodbye to Clementine, but at least now she will get a proper send off.

The Walking Dead: The Final Season episode 3 "Broken Toys" will be released on January 15, 2019.
