Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: New Clips & Videos Released

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows trailer and poster

Only a week remains before Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows hits theaters stateside, which sees April O’Neil (Megan Fox) and Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett) reprise their roles in the second installment of this new series of TMNT summer blockbusters, so the hype train has only gained more steam in recent weeks ahead of the premiere. The film will also include the debut of a fan-favorite in Casey Jones (Stephen Amell) and will even include some star-studded cameos like the New York Knicks’ Carmelo Anthony as himself.

Aside from seeing the pizza-loving turtles return to the big screen this summer, many fans have been wondering what to expect from the supporting characters in the film. Although a lot of these questions won’t be fully answered until the film’s release, TMNT has released several more clips and videos to showcase more of its flashy cast.

In the four clips released, April’s relationship with the turtles looks to be very important once again as they are working together to keep New York City safe. However, the TMNT team should have more help in the film, with Casey entering the fray. There's also shown a clip of how Anthony will be introduced in the film, placing him in good hands with Fenwick to add more comic relief.

The new clips and videos don't give away too much information about the movies central plot, but they do give fans a better idea as to what kind of role the new characters’ figure to play and how they'll interact with one another. It also seems to indicate Casey’s character will play a bigger role in the film than some may have previously expected.

TMNT 2 is introducing a lot of new characters, while also having to juggle the returning stars, so it certainly feels like this film is going to have a lot on its plate to try and piece everything together. Visually, the action looks to be just as engaging as the first film, but it should be interesting to see if director Dave Green can not only deliver on that front, but also on the film’s story.

Still, it’s exciting to see someone like Amell join the TMNT universe along with getting to see how characters like Anthony fair on the big screen. The ingredients for a successful follow-up to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are there, and it should be fun to see what the final product ends up being.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows opens in U.S. theaters on June 3, 2016.
