Both MTV's Teen Wolf and the CW's Nancy Drew draw their inspiration from existing properties. While Teen Wolf was inspired by an '80s movie, Nancy Drew is inspired by a series of novels that began in the 1930s. The two series have a lot in common as they lean into the supernatural and see groups of teenagers face the impossible.

With supernatural dealings and teenagers immersed in dangerous small-town happenings, the characters would find a lot of common ground with one another. However, just because they have a lot in common doesn't always mean their personalities would mesh. Some of the Teen Wolf characters would get along well with those of the Nancy Drew universe, but not all of them.

Would Work: Lydia And Nancy

Lydia is easily the most intelligent person on Teen Wolf (and probably on Nancy Drew too). Nothing gets past her. She's good at reading people and social situations, not to mention how math is her favorite pastime. Lydia also understands what it means to survive horrible situations and watch the people closest to her die. That's why she wouldn't be put off by Nancy's initial standoffish nature.

Nancy's ability to put puzzle pieces together rivals that of both Lydia and Stiles, so both young women would certainly be intrigued at one another's skills once they started working together. Nancy would also be seriously impressed with Lydia's skills as a banshee.

Would Not Work: Derek And Nick

The person that Derek Hale grows into by the end of Teen Wolf would be someone who could get along with Nick, even if they weren't necessarily friends. The Derek Hale that starts Teen Wolf, however, is a whole different story.

That Derek is secretive, menacing, and unwilling to listen to reason. If Nick had been present when Derek created his own pack of werewolves who attempted to trap Lydia to see her become the kanima, for example, Nick would likely not be able to get over that kind of behavior.

Would Work: Malia And George

Malia and George are very different people, but they have two traits in common: their bluntness and their loyalty. While Malia spends her formative years as a coyote, George spends hers raising her little sisters. The wouldn't hit it off right away as both of them being honest to a fault might lead to a confrontation or two.

They would understand one another though. Malia's first loyalty is to her pack, just as George's is to her family. They would perfectly understand the stakes for one another in a supernatural mystery situation and would look out for each other.

Would Not Work: Stilinski And Tamura

Sheriff Stilinski and Detective Tamura have very different approaches to police work. While Stilinski might try to intimidate his own son, he's more understanding when it comes to the other young people in Beacon Hills. Tamura, on the other hand, repeatedly goes out of his way to target Nancy and her friends instead of just talking to them.

Stilinski would never stand for a detective purposely working his way into Ace's home under false pretenses only to accuse him of stealing from the department when he had no proof. Stilinski is also more than happy to cover up the supernatural to protect the vulnerable people in town, something Tamura isn't so keen on doing. The two would rarely see eye to eye.

Would Work: Scott And Nick

Many Teen Wolf fans would argue that Scott McCall has the best character arc in the show. He goes from an outsider who longs to be a lacrosse star to the leader of his own pack. Scott builds himself a family by accepting other supernatural beings into his circle of friends and protecting his town. It's that protective streak that Nick and Scott have in common, and their need to make the world a better place.

Scott would love Nick's idea of creating a community center for Horseshoe Bay's youth. He'd probably even be willing to volunteer to teach kids lacrosse or help tutor them. The duo would, unlike most of the other characters, bond outside of the realm of the supernatural.

Would Not Work: Liam And Ace

Liam is an incredibly tightly wound individual. His anger management issues are what bring him to Beacon Hills in the first place, and those issues are only compounded when he becomes a werewolf. Ace, on the other hand, is the most laid back person in Horseshoe Bay - or at least, he appears that way.

Ace has a lot of patience when it comes to calming down Nancy or Bess. He takes care with them. That's very different from the way he acts when confronted with Gil Bobbsey's anger and selfishness. Though Liam has better intentions than Gil, Ace would likely find his patience tested by the young werewolf's impulsivity.

Would Work: Melissa And Carson

Parents of teenagers embroiled in supernatural conflict have it tough. They don't always know what their kid is up to right away, and once they do find out, their world is consumed with being worried that something will take their child from them that they can't explain.

Carson Drew and Melissa McCall, however, don't allow that fear to consume them. Instead, they rally behind their kids and support them. That would absolutely bond them. They would trade stories about how stubborn Nancy and Scott are and how proud they are of the people they've become.

Would Not Work: Peter And Ryan

A split image depicts Peter in Teen Wolf and Ryan in Nancy Drew

Peter Hale and Ryan Hudson are both robbed of the chance to see their daughters grow up. Peter's daughter is a coyote and Ryan's daughter is kept a secret from him. They both learn about their daughters at a time when Malia and Nancy resent their biological connection to them.

While it's clear that Peter cares for Malia (and no one else), he still bases most of his decision on his own desires, not what's best for her. Ryan, on the other hand, finds himself more and more often putting Nancy first and trying to be better for her. Ryan wouldn't understand why Peter continued to play the role of a villain when he could have the chance to get to know his daughter.

Would Work: Stiles And Bess

A split image depicts Stiles in Teen Wolf and Bess in Nancy Drew

Stiles might have been the token human of Teen Wolf, but he never let that slow him down. If Stiles and Bess put their heads together to solve a mystery, there would be a whole lot of energy in a very small space. Both typically have the anchoring presence of a calmer friend in their lives, but that doesn't mean they wouldn't get along.

Bess would relish the chance to help Stiles perfect his social media game, and Stiles would be fascinated with all of the ghostly research Bess has become familiar with in such a short time. The two would have long and spirited discussions about the supernatural rules of the world.

Would Not Work: Allison And Gil

A split image depicts Allison in Teen Wolf and Gil in Nancy Drew

Before Allison learns about her family legacy, she's a little shy. She doesn't want to make waves in her new home, but blend in. However, Allison isn't the type of person to let other people dictate her path in life, so that quickly changes, and she stands out as a leader and a protector of the supernatural. Allison would not have time for the likes of Gil Bobbsey.

She would despise how he manages to make every situation all about him. She also would be livid if she knew just how he repeatedly undercut his own sister's attempts to get out of Horseshoe Bay and live her own life. If Allison was forced to work on a supernatural mystery with Gil, her arrows would likely be aimed at him more than once.
